Creature (1)

Maybeboard

Originally the Fallout UB Science Precon, I wanted to play it with Liberty Prime, Recharged instead of Dr Madison, then realized Liberty Prime was a legal commander for Zirda, the Dawnwaker as a companion. I've been wanting a Zirda deck for a while (my only Activated ability focused deck was Grixis with Mairsil) and the combination of some artifact sacrifice shenanigans and the activated necessary restriction seemed like an appealing and unique challenge.

Little bit of flavor: because I've got a Giant Robot/Mech and a creature in the command zone, I've made some proxies of Liberty Prime and Zirda as the various Giant mechs of pop culture and their pilots (like Gipsy Danger and Raleigh/Mako or Eva Unit 01 and Shinji)

(at the moment, it's only a little different from the original, since I made it Zirda legal with cards I had on-hand, but I'll see what I pick up of older stuff as I also slot in new cards as new sets arise)

I picked up a few random cards after adjusting the deck from the precon with whatever in my collection worked to allow it to have the companion.

-1 Unexpected Windfall, +1 Stern Lesson - A little more narrow than unexpected windfall, but with this deck we should always be able to use the narrow mana, and it being permanent mana and 1 cheaper to cast is a big upgrade if that proves true (and the minor upgrade of discarding after instead of before)

-1 Whirler Rogue, +1 Geology Enthusiast

-1 Terramorphic Expanse, +1 Hall of Tagsin - This makes my colors slightly shakier, but this land can produce artifacts and with Zirda it can become a repeatable 3-mana ramp spell

-1 Reflections of Kiki-Jiki, +1 Thran Spider - I forgot that Companion restrictions can't see the back, so Reflections isn't actually a legal card

-1 Expert-Level Safe., +1 Legion Extruder - Safe is a neat card, but it works less than ideal with the swap to Liberty Prime as the commander. If I get its value, I can't sac it to Liberty's ability. If I don't, it's a 2 mana self exile just to get an artifact. Legion extruder is instead either a shock I eat for power or a backup to Liberty Prime's effect on a shock. And it's rad.

-1 Raff, Weatherlight Stalwart, +1 Drafna, Founder of Lat-Nam

-1 Brotherhood Vertibird, +1 Peacewalker Colossus - Bigger by default, has neat synergy with other vehicles. Also: it is a giant robot.

-1 Mind Stone, +1 Aerial Surveyor - Slower ramp to be certain, but the deck has a LOT of ramp, to the point it may be a little over-full, so I'm happy to swap to a ramp spell that advances my board as well
