The shell game
ShamiShini, 1 year ago
Added additional creatures to the sideboard for the following pre-game strategy:
I have started to remove all creatures from the mainboard before each game, then giving my opponents all removed creatures and all sideboard creatures. The opponents must then choose 11 out of these to be played this game. You can either do this openly, or let them choose in secret so you dont know what you will get.
For this purpose, the following creatures have been added to the sideboard to give opponents some variance in their choices:
Added Terastodon, Nesting Dragon, Giant Adephage, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, Etali, Primal Storm, card: Zopandel, Hunger Dominus and Godsire to the sideboard for 'the shell game'.
Creature and Support Update v2
ShamiShini, 1 year ago
This update replaces some of the creatures used, adding more synergy pieces to enable atla's ability to be triggered more frequently. Additionally, some value pieces were added in to increase consistency once atla is online.
Creatures:
Added Vaultborn Tyrant, Free Draw and Lifegain on ETB, plus its repeatable once by saccing it and getting the draw from its copy.
Added Palani's Hatcher, Gives 2 free Eggs on ETB, essentially making it a single use trigger doubler, as you get two eggs for the cost of one, with the added bonus of giving haste to dinos.
Added Kogla and Yidaro, Can be either a decently sized attacked with trample, or creature removal when hit with atla. If this is stuck in hand, it can be used as removal and shuffled back into the library where atla can then find it later.
Other:
Added Annie Joins Up, both a trigger doubler for atla and some other legendary creatures like Worldspine Wurm, plus damage based removal on ETB, both without occupying a creature slot.
Added Rhythm of the Wild since both protecting atla's cast, as well as giving haste is just a great deal.
Added Maskwood Nexus for shenanigans detailed in the decks description. I have decided its time to include it for real.
Removed Cards:
Removed Earthquake Dragon, though pretty sweet, a 'vanilla' 10/10 stompy flier is just not enough to cut it.
Removed Carpet of Flowers, although situationally insane, it can either whiff or provide you with mana you dont need since you try not to have expensive cards in hand anyways.
Removed Blossoming Defense which is arguably the worst protection piece, only giving hexproof without indestructable.
Removed Spawning Pit *list* since there are enough other sac outlets with mostly more useful effects.
Removed Concordant Crossroads since Rhythm of the Wild is just a better version of it, and giving haste in early turns where rhythm would be too expensive to cast is not relevant.
Removed Mirri's Guile sweet topdeck manipulation, but falls flat since you see the same cards over and over. Might get added back in at some point though..

Trying out:
- Rakdos, the Muscle for Black Market
- Rising of the Day for The Immortal Sun
- Cabal Ritual for Defiler of Flesh
- Bothersome Quasit for Rune-Scarred Demon
Black Market is awesome when it enters early on, but if not it is a slow card for a big cost. Rakdos delivers another sac outlet and effect on a powerful demon
Immortal Sun is a great card, but it is expensive and doesn't do much until next turn. Rising grants everyone Haste and extra power for Legendaries, which I have a few, and costs half the mana
Defiler of Flesh is a pretty fun card that has good ramp and support, but I'll be trying Cabal Ritual for the faster speed it provides
Quasit is very cheap for such a disruptive ability, which also increases his evasiveness. Rune-Scarred is very respectable, but also much more costly, and I already have plenty of drawing and 3 other tutors
Let's see how the new cards fare. These changes also slighty reduce the deck's average CMC

CrimsonWings3689, 1 year ago
Formerly Colorless Golos - the deck is shifting to enable Ulamog/Kozilek. Doing so should keep the deck as similar as possible while keeping the cost of the switch to a minimum.
- should Golos ever be unbanned, the cards below will be swapped back in: Golos, Tireless Pilgrim, Cascading Cataracts, Academy Ruins, The World Tree, Phyrexian Metamorph, Chromatic Lantern, Darksteel Plate
