Wort, Boggart Badass

Commander / EDH*

Goblin Aggro/Combo: Note a brief (and I mean very very brief primer follows).

Deck usually plays out like this:

Phase 1- Turn 1-5: Aggro- tiny creatures dealing damage, minor synergy. Cards like Grave Pact , Goblin Rabblemaster , Goblin Piledriver , Goblin Warchief and other staple goblin synergies are often useful here

Phase 2- Turn 5-7: Combo- usually happens after board wipe and stall. Combo out with Krenko, Mob Boss + Skirk Prospector + Thornbite Staff or Krenko, Mob Boss + Phyrexian Tower + Thornbite Staff both of which results in infinite creatures, mana and direct damage. Other notable combos include Metallic Mimic + Murderous Redcap + any sac outlet (of which there are many). This yields infinite damage.

There are other combos that I will note here when I have a little more time. At this point you will be relying on your tutors such as Demonic Tutor , Vampiric Tutor, Diabolic Intent , Goblin Matron , and Boggart Harbinger.

Phase 3- Turn 7ish- End of Game: Synergy to Victory: Combination of the other two phases. Often uses goblin synergies to win the game. Grenzo, Havoc Raiser , Wheel of Fortune , Sensation Gorger any of many sacrifice outlets, and Goblin Sharpshooter are the sort of cards that are useful here. Essentially you want to vulture (pick off the weaker players) your way to victory.

Any of these strategies can interspersed throughout the game depending on how you draw.

At any point in the game Wort, Boggart Auntie can allow you to regain lost card advantage by recurring goblins. Patriarch's Bidding and Living Death helps with this as well.

At almost any point in the game, a well placed Goblin Recruiter can put the match out of reach for many opponents.

Effectively, this deck operates on a different axis than most other EDH decks. Most decks don't have the spot removal or board wipe density or speed to deal with Wort.

The deck has some pros and cons.

Pros:

1) Board wipe resistant. Wort allows you to replay your highest impact spells.

2) Tons of fun if you like discovering synergies and combos. You win the game through the interactions of your cards, rather than their individual power.

3) Fun to play if you like using the red-zone. If you like smacking other players in the face, then do it!

4) It never really feels like you are 100% out of the game. The deck is "toolboxy" meaning that you always feel like there is some path to victory in almost every game state.

Cons:

1) It has trouble dealing with certain card types (as Red and Black are known to have).

2) It is more difficult (but not impossible) to play in four plus multiplayer games. NOTE This is a flaw that can be overcome. While it is true that this build happens to be very good in 1x1 matches, a simple reassessment of strategy will help you have a great amount of fun in 4x4 or more games. You really have to focus on winning the game in the third phase rather than the second phase. You just have to realize that you are going to bide your time and pick off players as you can.

3) Sometimes, it will feel like each of your individual effects are not as important or impressive as your opponents' effects. While this deck does run on the idea of killing someone through 1,000 paper cuts (little effects with lots of synergy) there are moments where you will just be overpowered.

4) Because you will be the "fast" or "aggro" deck you will often have a target painted on your head during the early game.

Because this deck has a strategy for multiple parts of the game that it can shift in and out of, it often feels like you have answers, you just have to think of them. In that sense, this is a deck that feels almost like a toolbox deck to play.

This deck has been heavily tuned to my playgroup (it was my first EDH deck). As such, cards such as Pyroblast have been included over others.

I will write a full primer if people want.
