The Untouchables (Budget EDH) (Commander / EDH MTG Deck)

Nearly every creature in this deck has, can have, or gives either hexproof or shroud. Tired of your cool creatures getting removed? This is the deck for you.

In addition, nearly every creature is either flying or has some other ability (unblockable, islandwalk) that makes them a pain to defend against. There is a decent amount of targeted removal and counter spells in the deck too, all with low casting cost. So the key to this deck is to 1) cast your creatures; 2) remove your opponents' creatures that could block or otherwise destroy your creatures; 3) attack; 4) attack; and 5) attack.

It should be a pretty straight-forward, budget-friendly deck. Great for new players who are sick of all their creatures dying to Murder, Swords to Plowshares, and whatnot.

There isn't much recursion in the deck, so you may want to save your counter spells for when other players try to wipe the board. Moorland Haunt can at least get you spirit tokens for any creatures you lose, but basically you need to win this game before you run out of creatures to cast. Drogskol Captain makes these spirits a bit better, but they are mostly just there to chump block. Your board wipes are there to get rid of pesky enchantments and elf/goblin/angel/et al. armies.

I originally had Geist of Saint Traft as commander, then Ephara, God of the Polis until I realized I already had the perfect commander in the 99: Dragonlord Ojutai. I think this deck deserves bonus points for using an actual elder dragon as its commander.

Anyway, this freed up an extra slot for Greater Realm of Preservation. With that and Righteous Aura, you should able to let any deathtouch or other creatures you don't want to block through and then just prevent the damage for minimal cost. Also, I added more ramp. The biggest downside of this deck is that the cmc of most creatures is 4-5, so you'll have to enchant, control, and remove until you can start launching your stealth bombers.
