Ascended Lawmage Discussion

These are my considerations for your removal... I don't do it often but most of them just dont do much other than offer you the hexproof ability.
Troll Ascetic : problem with regeneration is you gotta hold mana for it. Easy to forget.
Soul of the Rapids : doesn't do much for it's cost.
Sagu Mauler : I mean it's ok... but just doesn't do alot other than have abilities.
Prognostic Sphinx : I see no reason to want to discard cards for optional hexproof. Scry's nice but there are better options for card advantage.
Ascended Lawmage : Again, cost vs stats... it's just not there. One mana less would have changed my mind...
These are just what I can think of... again, with my previous changes in mind.
Heroic Intervention : and similar cards can protect you from board wipes and other spells that don't target.
Wild Growth and similar cards could be useful if moving towards more of an 'enchantress voltron' style deck.
Curiosity for extra cards, coupled with an evasive creature.
Octopus Umbra : great for the evasive creatures. Also for anything that has accrued counters, then it becomes 8/8 + counters and hopefully unblockable... maybe even Ishai.
These are the iffy ones... they could stay, or go. Up to you
Multani, Maro-Sorcerer : other players can control the stats my discarding/casting etc. Sure it could get big but its subjective. Also if we follow a voltron strategy you cant target t either.
Witchstalker : on curve, but unless it's a meta call because U/B is common... but idk.

Thank you all so much for your decks and your patience!

Very surprised not to see Ascended Lawmageon this list. It is very brutal in pauper EDH as a format with limited board wipes (especially outside of black).

What could be removed? There is a lot of decks and players who can win faster, make tokens or have faster temp than you.
For example, i win all players with combo in my deck Disciple of Deceit - Combos PDH at turn 5. Peregrine Drake + Ghostly Flicker + Archeomancer is a thing many blue decks win with. You should able to stop this combo, by killing creatures for example.
Ascended Lawmage would have many auras like Cho-Manno's Blessing that provide indestructible blocker to your knight. Add some artifact or enchantment removals.
And of cource, one Pestilence will be headache for the rest of the game for you once it entered battlefield.
About Karoo lands - you are wrong.
They are not "same as taplands". They provide card-advantage, and you have additional land in hand. Its like if tapland has ability "enters tapped, then search land and put in hand".

Here is the rundown thats generally accepted in most places and what I play with the PDH group discord: 30 life. 16 commander damage. No ban list, if it was ever common anywhere its good. Mulligan is more of a house rule even though its officially full hand. Ive been playing more full hand mul but partial paris isnt bad either. My thoughts on mull style is if your group has very powerful decks do full muls but if everyone has casual decks partial is fine.
The strongest 1v1 commanders is still a fresh category but so far its certain that Ascended Lawmage is insane. Disciple of Deciet is also an insane combo deck for both 1v1 and multiplayer. Theres probably more but none that Ive seen, and I manage a massive compendium haha.
Aggro is actually extremely viable in 1v1 but in multiplayer the strong decks are midrange and combo, aggro will die out fast. A voltron deck can do well in multiplayer just make sure to customize the deck for it.
