My Sweet Child Ezuri, lord of the elfball

Commander / EDH Elves Forest Mono-Green Tap/Untap

Elves and mana and oh my!

This is my list that's an ode to the very first deck I ever built when I started playing magic. Ezuri and by extension Elves are close to my heart and I hope that this list does justice to the ideas I had as a child that I could never afford to do.

Game Plan

This deck is very straight forward. You want to make a lot of mana very quickly. Things like a Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic to guarantee a turn 2 three drop such as Ezuri, Renegade Leader or Elvish Archdruid. From there the game plan is pretty simple. You can go infinite fairly easily with things like Umbral Mantle or Sword of the Paruns which will let you kill the whole table with your general's innate ability to pump your dudes for 5 mana.

You can also flood the board with elves and elf tokes from cards like Elvish Promenade , Elven Ambush, or Lys Alana Huntmaster. This deck wants to go wide as quickly as possible to overwhelm your opponents before they can stabilize and remove your threats. The deck has some resiliency in the form of graveyard recursion like Noxious Revival or Regrowth but if the game goes too long, slower decks will be able to catch up and control your board state.

With a wide variety of ways to draw your way to your win conditions like Craterhoof Behemoth or Aetherflux Reservoir you should be able to close out the game fairly quickly.

Fun Interactions and Combos

Need a Craterhoof Behemoth to close out the game but you dont have it in hand or a way to traditionally tutor for it? You can get it if you have a beast in play from Woodland Bellower or Beast Within + Kindred Summons naming beast to fetch it from your deck in your time of need!

Any creature that taps for 5 mana + Staff of Domination, Sword of the Paruns, or Umbral Mantle = infinite mana (and with staff you draw your whole deck and win the game).

With Concordant Crossroads or Thousand-Year Elixir in play, you can do some really wacky stuff with Cloudstone Curio. If you have those two things in play and a way to draw cards from creatures being cast ( Beast Whisperer , The Great Henge ) you can dig really really deep by drawing tons of cards and filling the board with elves.

Art Changes

Some arts I couldn't find on tapped out so I'm going to list the art that I actually want down here.

Beast Within - Secret Lair artwork in foil.
