Maybeboard

This deck is intended to be budget friendly and is a total reconstruction of a Nicol Bolas commander deck I made recently. As such, I utilize quite a fair number of cards I already had (such as the lands and mana rocks).

The focus of the deck is a balanced and consistent approach with demon tribal (while keeping the price tag reasonable). Playtesting on here has felt really good, so once I get the chance to playtest extensively irl and I'm happy with it, then I'll consider upgrades here and there in the future.

There are a lot of different, cool ways to interact with Be'lakor. His etb effect gives us potentially good card draw, and we can trigger that with either blinking or saving him with cards like undying evil should he be targeted by removal. In addition, his other triggered ability that looks for other demons and slings their power at targets pairs well with cards like molten echoes, aspiring champion, and gyruda who can bring out more demons to the board and start getting high value damage out.

The focus is to stack that mana decently quick to get Be'lakor out, but you aren't beholden to that strategy alone. Many of the other demons support their own weight as standalone cards, giving you the chance to play cautious and be adapting to how your opponents play (whether they are playing aggro, controlling, etc).

I tried to make this deck as balanced and fun as possible by running with the demon tribal theme. I had made my previous Nicol Bolas deck far too focused on control spells and it created a deck that worried too much about what your opponents play. It felt as though the deck had little identity or substance of its own. I value longer, drawn out casual games where it's easy to slip up and you're itching for that top deck. From what I've playtested, this deck strikes that balance I've been looking for in a color scheme that I've always wanted to play. I hope you find it interesting at the very least and any tips are welcome!
