My deck is supposed to be "the classic blue deck" in the table. Politics is a key aspect for victory. As a blue mage the only thing I do is just keep drawing cards so I could assure that I am not a threat. But if other players suspect that I am running some infinite combos (which I am) I can threaten them by saying "If you attack me, you won't resolve your important spells" or "If you destroy this, I can return your big stuff in your hand and keep them there". User of this deck should not be an enemy to anyone but he/she should avenge all the wrongs done to him/her.

If politics fail you, there are some ways you can defend yourself. Glacial Chasm is arguebly the best one. Cumulative upkeep shouldn't be too hard to pay, but Venser's Journal is in the decl to help you with the lifeloss. I recommend not to play Glacial Chasm if you have other options, because it raises your threat level by an huge amount. Serendib Sorcerer and Portal Mage can help with huge creatures. Lategame GGalecaster Colossus with some wizards in the battlefield makes life a lot easier. Kefnet the Mindful is perfect blocker. My deck is weak against big armies. Politics and counterspells play a big role against those players.

What is the endgame? This deck wants to win with an infinite combo out of nowhere. I do not run Isochron Scepter or High Tide and it is important to tell that to all players. You should be able to win the game as soon as your enemies realise that you are a threat. Ways to combo off:

  1. Mind Over Matter. This makes winning too easy, which is why Long-Term Plans is the only way to tutor this bad boy up. When you cast this, make sure that you have a counter ready and enough mana to cast Laboratory Maniac. Mana is not really an issue if you have of the infinite mana pieces left in your deck. Which brings us to:

  2. Infinite mana. There are two key cards for making infinite mana: Palinchron and Training Grounds. The latter used with Basalt Monolith makes infinite colorless mana. It doesn't mean imminent game win but makes winning much more easier. Blue Sun's Zenith + Laboratory Maniac is the way to go. Better way of making infinite mana is with Palinchron because then you blue mana too. Palinchron creates infinite mana with Caged Sun, Gauntlet of Power, Extraplanar Lens, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx (if your devotion is high enough) and of course with Deadeye Navigator. If you happen to have Arcanis the Omnipotent + Minamo, School at Water's Edge , you get infinite cards as well -> victory.

  3. Infinite turns. Needs some setup but this one is definitely my favorite. First you need an extra turn card in your graveyard (for example Time Warp or Expropriate). Then you return the chosen card to your hand with Archaeomancer and cast it. Flicker Archaeomancer with Deadeye Navigator and repeat the process. Riptide Laboratory can replace Deadeye Navigator if you have enough mana. Conjuer's Closet can also be the replacer but leaves Archaeomancer vulnerable to removal. Luckily Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir can help with that.

Some cards/interactions I would like to highlight:

  1. Whir of Invention opens the way to many possibilities. It can produce mana ramp, search for panic button known as Nevinyrral's Disk or make your life easier with Sensei's Divining Top. Use it wisely.

  2. Counterbalance + Sensei's Divining Top keeps you better control of the game. You can make friends by saying "I could counter this but I won't if you don't use it against me". Be warned: this combo can cause a lot of hate.

  3. Tolaria West. Needless to say but never play this, always use transmute.

  4. Commit / Memory should prevent you from milling out (if you don't want to).

  5. Long-Term Plans is a card you should not use unless you are certainly winning. I think that tutors are kinda cheap way to victory so I might change Long-Term Plans to Propaganda depending on playgroup.

Thank you for watching my deck, I hope that I gave joy or ideas to someone. Comments and propositions are appreciated! (Sorry for possible mistakes in the text, I am not a native speaker.)
