Maybeboard

Semi-recently came across a friend who was running a bant slivers deck. Pretty non-typical for a tribe that has large selections in all colors and a variety of dedicated commanders. It got me thinking about other tribes that could also run less colors, but still have good enough support to run appropriately for their power level which spirits immediately came to my mind.

Now I find I don't often build esper decks as they tend to lean towards stax/control builds which are rather boring for me and usually too dominant for my casual play group so I thought a tribe in those colors would be a good counteraction to it all. Without a dedicated commander, I went searching for something that would work for either as just a value engine and/or some kind of utility and landed on one of three options: Oloro, Ishai/Tymna or Ishai/Ravos.

Main draw/drawback: Oloro - A classic esper commander who effectively had eminence before it was a thing. It's a small enough ability that I think can be utilized well and not draw large amounts of hate right off the bat.

Ishai/Tymna - Has a potentially large beatstick/early game draw. I really don't like Ishai though as he only has combat evasion and not something that will protect him inherently as he will no doubt become a target for spot removal with how big he can become.

Ishai/Ravos - Additional recursion to soulshift and anthem effect/potentially large beatstick. Still don't like Ishai, but as the only other option in partners is Silas Renn who is artifact based and I doubt I will have that many in this deck.

Given the options, I'll start with Oloro and see how the playtest goes. If any of the partner setups would shore up the downfalls ofthe deck then I'll adjust accordingly.
