Hello friends! This is my attempt at a Miyazaki-themed EDH experience. I chose cards, and a strategy, that reflect themes from Miyazaki films: a love of nature, terrifying and fantastical spirits, and larger than life magic. The deck is slightly group-hug, incorporating cards like Rites of Flourishing, Heartbeat of Spring, and Dictate of Kruphix to help all players' decks perform well. The hope is that these effects generate enough good will, and O-Kagachi's effect enough concern, that your opponents are dissuaded from attacking you. The deck includes Kamigawa's legendary spirit dragons: Kokusho, the Evening Star, Keiga, the Tide Star, and Yosei, the Morning Star. Their abilities are meant to further dissuade opponents from attacking you, or else lose a chunk of life, a creature, or an untap phase. The deck also includes numerous ways to exploit these triggered effects, namely by copying the dragons with Flameshadow Conjuring, Tempt with Reflections, or Polymorphous Rush to reap the many rewards of the copied dragons dying to the legendary rule. The powerful death triggers, as well as O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami's trigger, are all valid targets for shenanigans using Strionic Resonator. If all of the above fails, Myojin of Infinite Rage and Myojin of Night's Reach are highly persuasive combat deterrents.

In essence, this deck attempts to paint a magical world where spirits flicker in and out of existence, rewarding the gentle and punishing the violent. Games can go so many different ways, with wins coming from a plurality of shrines, giant flying creature damage, commander damage, pitting opponents against one another, or likely a combination of the four.

I hope you enjoy viewing and maybe even constructing this deck. It gives me a spark of that Ghibli magic every time I play it.
