Do you want lands to be the most threatening thing in your Deck? If Voltron and dark combos are your thing, then Ob Nixilis, the Fallen is a great deck to consider.

This is my first commander deck and has gone through many changes, leading to the lethal list you see before you.

Lets start with what I want out of this deck. I started with a funny idea: Ob Nixilis, the Fallen is a legendary creature that gets bigger each turn with each landfall, and he causes opponents to lose life with each trigger as well. With this deck's ability to play utiple lands a turn, Ob Nixilis, the Fallen can get big fast. In most of my games, he is a 9/9 on his 2nd turn out on the battlefield and a 12/12 the 3rd turn. Meaning if he attacks the same player on both of these turns and all the damage goes through, quite possible with some evasion enablers I will go into later, he can eliminate another player his 3rd turn on the battlefield.

Because he is such a threat, i found that winning with commander damage a challenge. There are 2 surprising Combos in here to catch other players off guard, we will get to them in time. This description, like this deck is all about waiting for the right moment to show your cards.

Lets start with the manabase. Even though we are in Mono-black, there is lots of variety. This deck runs 38 lands. 21x Swamp s. You need and there are many land tutors for basic lands. With only 21 basic lands, there is a risk of not having when you want to play Ob Nixilis, the Fallen . I have balanced this out with colored mana rocks colorless land tutors. 8x Super Lands. These lands potentially let you have multiple land drops per turn, supercharging Ob Nixilis, the Fallen . This deck is budgetedand does not have any painlands.
