Minor Update —Sept. 22, 2017

Song of the Dryads out for Doubling Season

Reason: More token production leads to a more aggressive approach, which this build is all about.

Shared Animosity out for Growing Rites of Itlimoc  Flip

Reason: What is better than a Gaea's Cradle? Perhaps having two cradles? In this deck it should be fairly easy to transform the card to Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun  Flip.

Worldly Tutor out for Chord of Calling

Reason: An instant tutor that allows us to cheat in our good ol' buddy Avenger of Zendikar at the beginning of our opponent's end step. Which can be paid for by tapping our many elemental tokens, rather than our mana.

Forest out for Ancient Tomb

Reason: I was trying to avoid cutting a basic land for this card, but I feel like having the two colorless will payoff.

RingoDingo92, thanks for the suggestion! Realms Uncharted added.

TehMagicPrimordial, thank you for your suggestion as well! Coat of Arms added.

realBorborygmos, thank you for the +1. We are so close to hitting the 100 upvote milestone. Very exciting! Go team Gruul!

Bassmaster, I've always looked at Rite of the Raging Storm as an addition to Omnath, but always overlooked it for something else. I guess all it took was for your recommendation to really push for the addition. Thanks! As for the suggested protection cards, I'll keep them on the back burner for now. Great suggestions, nonetheless.

Vayder84, I had Nissa, Vital Force in a previous version and decided to replace her for Nissa, Worldwaker. I like them both very much for this deck, but I've enjoyed very much so turning my fetchlands into 4/4 elementals and then sacrificing them to bolt an opponent or creature.

Sgtpopnfreash, it's a done deal! Lotus Cobra is back in the mix. I'm still on the fence on including Elemental Mastery again. I'll keep it in mind for the meantime, as well as Spitebellows, Life's Legacy and your shared suggestion with DrValium for Impact Tremors. Thank you both for your suggestions!

benjameenbear7, I am actually in the process of putting together a prototype version of another Omnath build that includes land destruction and will also feature such cards as Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon. As for Wildfire and Destructive Force they could really add some spice to that build. As for this build, I am considering on adding both Mana Crypt and/or Mana Vault at some point in the near future.

Jitsrotu, I was sitting on Life from the Loam in the past. Especially anytime I would have Crucible of Worlds in play. Now I have Ramunap Excavator included, I don't find it too necessary to have as of now. As for Boundless Realms it usually does good work in this deck. Though I'm not going to lie, I have had thoughts on replacing it for Genesis Wave but for now it remains.

Love the Omnath love here. Love the deck, +1 from me.

I took mine apart, I was looking for something new to play, but here is mine and hopefully you see something in there you don't have which I don't see much lol. Omnath Elementals. I used to win with it often with my friends. N-Oloro, Ageless Ascetic and Feldon of the Third Path to name a couple. We weren't combo off on turn 2-4 like some people ... what fun is that?? We want to play some cards not draw twice and go home ... but they were tough decks to play against. :)

Great deck! I have an Omnath deck as well and it's my favorite EDH deck for years now! Us Omnath players, we gotta stick together!

I used to have a very similar build to yours but wanted to try a new approach and that's when I tried to integrate some infinite combos as well as many other good working synergies and wrote a primer about it. Tell me if you liked it and maybe you find some interactions you wanna try, too. I'd be happy about it! Or maybe you also have some new ideas how to make the deck more efficient. Here it is:

Nice list

However, your lack of Elemental Bond disturbs me.

Great card when ahead, and really helps rebuild after a boardwipe.

I am a little surprised there is no Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, or Primal Vigor here. If the whole premise of the deck is to get as many elemental tokens onto the battlefield as you can muster, why not have enchantments that let you get double, triple, quadruple triggers on your landfall?

Also, because you only have 20 non-permanents in the deck, Primal Surge is likely to get you around 4 permanents from the top of your library. That may or may not be worth a spot.

I am a tard. I must have looked over Parallel Lives when I was looking. Still, the other two could be good additions.

I have an Omnath deck as well, Out of the forest, into the flame. I really like your inclusion of Decent of Dragons. I'm going to try to put it in my list. A card I think you are missing is Blasphemous Act. I played my deck yesterday, and had a fun set. Played Omnath turn 4, turn 5 played Scapeshift, sac'd 9 lands, played blasphemous act and destroyed 12 elementals + Omnath for 39 damage. I don't play Valakut, but I'm thinking now that I should because it would have helped that much more.

With all your instant and sorcery ramp, have you considered Young Pyromancer? On the surface it's a tad slow, but the elementals could be useful given the right conditions.

Chandra, Flamecaller is great with the elementals cuz on omnath's second ability. plus she gives you draw which is cool.

Chandra, Flamecaller doesn't work without a sac outlet because the creatures don't die.

I also run an angry omnath deck.

I would highly recommend a Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle due to infinity land tutoring as well as scapeshift. By that logic including Thespian's Stage and Vesuva are great in their own right. I've built my deck less around haste and attacking so I also run Glacial Chasm but I don't think that card fits in your style as well as it does in mine. I do however recommend running Altar of Dementia as an additional sac outlet. Screwing up scrys and miserly mill abilities are always fun to toy with. I can post my list later if you're interested.

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for all of your feedback and support! It is greatly appreciated! I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up with all of the comments, but I do read them all and take in careful consideration with all suggestions. I will comment back to everyone in due time.

I did post my alternate Omnath build for those of you that are curious to check it out. I would like to hear from all of you and know what you think.

I'd be happy to. Will do as soon as I get the chance. I like the Valakut angle because it's usually pretty tough to deal with lands.

Crop Rotation has been an allstar for me, grabbing a Yavimaya Hollow or Glacial Chasm at instant speed to shut down them killing an important creature or attempting to kill you with damage has been sweet. Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle has also been good, but my list is a bit more skewed towards abusing it. How has Ashnod's Altar been as a sac outlet? Do you often use the mana from it, or does it perform like a worse Goblin Bombardment for you sometimes? Cool deck mate, I've been jamming angry Omnath for over a year now and he is one of my favorite decks despite me being a blue-inclined mage :D. List is below.

Whelp, the new Traverse the Outlands looks pretty dumb. I think this deck especially could make good use of it.

Depending on your ramp, the upside of Where Ancients Tread costing 1 less versus the flexibility of Warstorm Surge could be negligible. However, your engine is built off of Omnath's angry elementals, so I don't see why not. Or just run both for consistency.

No Terramorphic Expanse or Evolving Wilds? I know they aren't as great as any of the fetchlands, but still. Every extra landfall trigger is another 5/5 beatstick. I think you could afford to cut a couple basics for them. Blighted Woodland is similar to Myriad Landscape, but it doesn't enter tapped, and costs twice as much to ramp. I'd still run it.

Sakura-Tribe Elder should never be underrated in EDH, and especially should be in a deck that gets value off of lands etb. Chump block, then sac for a Rampant Growth, or if your opponents forget about it with Omnath in play, flash out a 5/5 blocker. Always good.

Rampaging Baloths is your backup token spammer, or just a way to get even more value off your land drops. Maybe Omnath got Nevermore'd or Commander taxed too high. You can keep your engine going without worry.

I find your lack of a Rishkar's Expertise disturbing. Don't forget you can play one of the cards that you've drawn into for free.

Axeplorer, I've been on the fence on adding Crop Rotation. I'm just very unsure what to cut for it, so I never added it. I ran Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle, Vesuva and Thespian's Stage at one point. I just never ran enough mountains to maximize damage output, so the synergy wasn't effective enough and they got cut. As for Ashnod's Altar, yes, it has been a worse Goblin Bombardment. I've been contemplating on replacing it with Phyrexian Altar instead. At least then I could make use of the one any color mana compared to the two colorless. I really like where you are going with all the burn in your build. I might have to add some of those cards to get that additional damage out.

usaDiabetic, thanks for the +1! Even if it was just for the name, any and all upvotes are much appreciated! I'm glad the name is getting attention. I was cracking myself up when creating the name for this build.

nodicekid, thanks for taking the time and posting your Omnath build. I like the land destruction you have going on in there. I've always considered adding some myself. I think a cycled Decree of Annihilation would add some nice flavor.

jamesfiek, I don't like taking the risk with Animist's Awakening. The chances of spending seven mana (just to compare it to Boundless Realms CMC) on it to look at the top six and coming up with a land or two is not worth it in my opinion. Not saying that is always the case, just not worth the risk for me. I replaced Horn of Greed awhile back for Mind's Eye, so I could prevent giving my opponents an extra draw off land play.

Hi Starsky2814,

Have you considered putting Mana Echoes in? It combos really nicely with Perilous Forays and Zendikar's Roil as follows: 1) Land comes out, putting a 5/5 Elemental (Omnath) and a 2/2 Elemental (Roil) into play 2) Sac a 2/2 Elemental (using Forays), ping a player for 3 life and put a basic land out (Also putting an additional 5/5 Elemental and 2/2 Elemental out) 3) Get 2X colourless mana (where X is the number of elementals already present) to keep fuelling Forays. Rinse and repeat.

Can I also suggest ditching more of the non-basic lands and bringing in swamps and forests? They're more easily tutorable. And maybe introduce Undergrowth Champion and New Frontiers

Hello,

As jamesfiek mentioned Animist's Awakening card to this deck. I have it on my own deck and goal is to use it with Scouting Trek but yes it takes two spells to do it.
