Description

My alternate Omnath build based on A Michael Bay Film, Omnath: Age of Explosions! v3. Primer coming soon! Just note that my playgroup is full of a$$holes and their decks say it all. I just want to stay competitive with those jerks, so I must ask for your help, from all of you in the MtG community, to help construct the best Omnath deck! Any and all suggestions are welcome. Together as a community, you can help make it possible to crown me, king a$$hole, of my playgroup. Please, don't forget to upvote!

Some of the commander decks I face regularly would be: Scion of the Ur-Dragon, The Gitrog Monster, Norin the Wary, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice, Jhoira of the Ghitu, Talrand, Sky Summoner, Vial Smasher the Fierce, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim, Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, Maelstrom Wanderer, Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper, Sliver Overlord, Sharuum the Hegemon, Uril, the Miststalker.

Operation: Teenage Mutant Explosive Tokens! The game plan is simple. The goal is to ramp as much as possible early on, cast Omnath on turn 4-6, create as much elementals as possible, give them haste to attack then sac the majority of them for additional damage. It is crucial for this build to have a draw engine, ramp and haste to grab early game advantage. In my playgroup especially, it is always a race to get early field advantage and take out those who try to WinCon as early as turn 4-6.

1/3 of your deck is unplayable against Gaddock Teeg

One could suggest Chaos Warp against Gaddock Teeg. Tuck effects seem to hit commanders hard.

KylerStar I think you may have been playing commander for a few years now, because as of 2015 tucking commanders does not work, and it just reverts them back to your command zone. Look it up if you don't believe me, and also, Chaos Warp is one card out of 99.

I'm sure you are correct. To be honest I thought I remembered something of it, but wasn't sure. Haven't seen any tucks in forever(for reasons obvious now). Figured someone would correct me if I was wrong. Benmtgmage, rather than just pointing out flaws, I prefer to try to suggest solutions. And though one card out of the 99, provided we could still tuck commanders, has other uses. My philosophy is that if I can offer up one card to possibly be an answer, someone else can/will offer the next. Hopefully the answers add up to be more than one out of 99.

This all being said, if you know someone in your playgroup plays Gaddock Teeg, run some 1-2 drop instant shocks/bolts. Surly losing a turn to ramp, though you would have nothing to ramp into otherwise.
