Lol there was a comment about how to fend off Krenko. This is a competitive deck, it shruggs at casual decks like Krenko, trash boss.

Thanks for the response. When I think of control I imagine a deck with answers for every creature, good cantrips/draw, and a package of win conditions to throw out after you've controled the game. Just remove all of their things until theyre in topdeck mode. I can respect what you're pursuing here, just thouht id poke my nose in. Good luck mate :)

I'm going to be a little blunt. I think it's cool to really like something and try to make it work. After testing the deck and looking over it I can tell you that your deck is not much of a control deck. You said it yourself, you try not to die and thats it. As it is I would say your deck is just trying to cast Fade Away (which to be honest is pretty bad effect especially if youre trying to play control) just to see what happens. If you're interested in building a true blue whote control deck i would be happy to help you. I would give lots of good card suggestions. As it is now, however, the control viability is almost non existent.

XD It's cool man. Playing Ixalan limited I heard people say "commune with dinosaurs" assuming it was a funny name for the dinosaur version of commune with gods. The second I saw that it was actually called that I laughed for so long we went to time. The moral of the story is, it can be fun not to read cards :D

First step would be to take out: all of your current sideboard (reference mine for good card choices and adjust to your meta), 4x Monastery Swiftspear, 7x Mountain, 4x Shard Volley

I have many suggestions to make this deck better but it would look pretty different. Interested?

What exactly is the theme you're going for? If you want a good burn deck I could tell you how to do it properly. Or is this supposed to be small damage effects only?

I like the intentions of this list. You should submit your deck for the Glissa primer! Glissa may become viable as tier 2.5 with new cards, who knows. Your list looks pretty optimized already.

This, and none of the decks in your play group, are competitive. Those are all casual, no matter how good they may seem to you guys. I just wanted to inform you that the competitive tag on this list is inaccurate.

There's also a lot of non competitive cards in the list

Sorry for my un helpful comments. Ifeno knows what I mean though. Competitive decks need to be able to prevent a full table from winning on turns 3 onword AND be resilient enough to set up a winning condition yourself through all of their interactions. Any strategy that aims to attack with creatures over multiple turns and win through damage is nowhere near competitive viable. It's way to slow and easiest to disrupt. And the gaining life part is almost completely irrelevant in competitive games. If you said "ok i now gain 200 life" the whole competitive table would go "cool" and not waste a counter.

No problem man, here is what competitive Selvala looks like. My advice would be to make your list as close to this list over time, and of course what you feel comfortable with $$.

Some things that immedietly stood out to me that have no place in a competitive deck are: Archetype of Endurance, Argothian Elder, Colossus of Akros, Elvish Piper, Forgotten Ancient, Garruk's Horde, Genesis Hydra, Greenweaver Druid, Gyre Sage, Heroes' Bane, Hydra Broodmaster, Hydra Omnivore, Karametra's Acolyte, etc (I give up, I'd be typing a lot of cards.

Not trying to bash your deck at all, I'm just trying to make a point that competitive is a whole other beast :) What you have now may work for you and thats totally fine. Competitive Selvala however looks like the list I linked, and can win as soon as she can make mana which can be turn 3-5 consistently.
