The Origin Story

Originally created because my local group hit a low point in interaction. There was so little interaction that 3-5 enchantment combinations were being setup with nary a glance, and giant haymaker fights were going down with while rounds passing without a spell being cast on another person's turn. As weird as it is to say, Control is the hero we needed (interactive midrange is the hero we deserved). That said, I wasn't intetested on being a deck that just shut everyone down and took forever. I still need to win and the game needs to progress. This led me to play a dck where almost all my own threats can be played at instant speed, so I can hold up for interaction but still play threats if nothing too big is going down.

Originally also constructed as a Spirit Tribal/Arcane deck, I had a lot of fun with that build for a while, but always found that any hand without Rattlechains ended up being Jenara control with little ghosts. Then cool control spells kept getting printed, but Spirit/Arcane locked a lot of deck in place to keep up synergy, and i finally decided to move away from it to a straight Bant-flash deck

A mostly blue Bant Control deck looking to play at instant speed as much as possible. Rather than trying to control the entire board, the deck hopes to use Jenara's efficient clock paired with countermagic to forestall the most impactful plays while still racing and letting everyone mostly play their decks like they want.
