She's working on her graduate thesis, Behavioral Psychology of Aquatic Megafauna: A Rope of Sand at the Institute of Arcane Study (Go Wind Drakes!). There's lots of specimens to study and lots of papers to write.

Fortunately, the faculty at the institute are knowledgeable and helpful: Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, and many less well-known wizards are all there to help, and Braids is going to need all the help she can get!

The institute is well-equipped with many facilities and resources like Riptide Laboratory and Reliquary Tower. Visits to off-campus sites such as Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Mikokoro, Center of the Sea round out Braids's field of study.

As any pirate knows, sometimes the sea gives up treasure. Braids has picked up more than just seashells on the beach. Sol Ring, Gauntlet of Power, Sapphire Medallion... she even caught a pair of old boots while she was fishing.

Her subject is, naturally, the gargantuan creatures that populate the oceans and coastal regions. They range from massive mindless monsters, like Stormtide Leviathan and Scourge of Fleets, to masters of mental mystery, like Sphinx Ambassador and Tidespout Tyrant.

Of course, Braids has ways to get her papers in on time. Flow of Ideas, Temporal Mastery, Time Stop... Although, she's not above a little plagiarism. Things like Phyrexian Metamorph or Clever Impersonator come in handy. Hey, everyone does it. "Fake it 'til you make it," as they say. If that doesn't work, some old-fashioned Bribery gets the job done.

Everybody makes mistakes, of course. Sometimes Braids notices others making mistakes, and helps them out with a Pongify or Curse of the Swine. There's no need to thank her.

It's going to be an interesting semester for Braids. If she's lucky, she might just graduate!
