Cheap Monsters with buffs, mana ramp/cost reduction , life gain/drain, ways to regenerate (prevent death) and bring back to life creatures, exile cards from opponents hand, and card draw.

This deck features Crypt Gast, which can drain life from an opponent and increase swamp mana output.

Disowned Ancestor is a cheap blocker that can tap with mana to add +1/+1 counters to itself. Will-o'-the-wisp is a cheap blocker, that you can use 1 black mana to prevent it from dying. Souls of the Faultless not only blocks, but you gain life for however much damage it takes. Tormented Soul can't be blocked. Tidehollow Sculler can exile a card from oppenents hand for as long as it is on the battlefield. Artifacts, Instants, and Sorceries to bring creatures back from the grave, ramp mana, and draw extra cards. A couple tutors in there to grab more powerful cards if you're not drawing into any.
