This deck came about after purchasing the white Commander 2014 deck "Forge from Stone". Of the possible commanders in that deck, Jazal appealed to me the most with his insane ability. And with a build focused on putting as many creatures on the board as quickly as possible, he becomes an extremely devastating force.

Many cards in the precon do fit in this deck, however, many of the spells in the precon were "win more" kind of cards, which I avoided and focused more on cards that can build me up from scratch if need be. I also diverged from the equipment theme as it ate up too much space in my deck which could be used for more army expanding theme.

Many of the cards are catered to a very fast, explosive speed. The more creatures that can be produced from a single card, the better (ie Seller of Songbird and Spectral Procession). Also, if it could not be cast within the first 3,4, or maybe 5 turns, I gave that card less consideration as Jazal can come out turn 4, and I should be swinging turn 5. If they come out later than that, it has to be extremely good value and without being win more cards!

The difficulty with this deck is that it is extremely vulnerable to board wipes and have a difficult time with control and cards like Propaganda or Sphere of Safety. There are a few exile spells to deal with some tricky obstacles like Oblivion Ring and such. Hopeful, you can take out the control player(s) as quick as possible before they can set up.

You do have the ability to bounce back after a board wipe relatively quickly, if you can keep cards in your hand. In fact, there are some later game cards that allow you to stay in the game for the long run if you can't seal the deal quick enough.

Slate of Ancestry is pure gold in this deck! You can very well mill yourself with a few activations if you aren't careful (which reminds me that I need to add some protective measures for that), but this lets you "tutor" for cards by simply drawing massive amounts of cards.

Another all-star card is Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. It really boosts the speed of the deck as well as allowing you to activate Jazal multiple times easier. Devotion to white is not too difficult to accumulate, but there are many tokens that do not contribute.

There are a few drops such at Ornithopter and Memnite that adds to the speed of getting creatures out and should be played the turn before the activation of Jazal. The extra one attacking creature makes a massive difference. Also, they can block intimate or pro-white creatures. Don't underestimate the zero drops!

There are a few ways to give Jazal the ability to strike for commander damage which is easily doable with his ability alone, but cards like Armored Ascension and Battle Mastery and Silverblade Paladin makes it much easier earlier in the game, giving you the ability to take multiple players out at the same time easily. Win with an army and/or win with the commander. That's the beauty of this deck.

Play this if you like

  • Large daunting army
  • The ability to make many powerful, scary goats
  • The chance to take down opponents simultaneously with ease
  • A mostly straight forward strategy
  • Winning through attacking
  • A relative cheap build costing less than $100 bucks

Do not play this if you

  • Don't like math
  • Don't like the fragility of large token armies
  • Don't like mono-white

Very recent build, but very fun and promising. I am trying to work with this deck to be able to better deal with control and disruption. Suggestions and comments are greatly welcomed :)
