Springjack Shepherd Discussion

I have tried Trading Post in this deck, but it didn't make the cut because it does what other cards in the deck already do, but slower and with less relevance.
Springjack Pasture gives life/goats just as Trading Post does while still acting as a land and providing a method to turn goats into a burst of mana for the Angel Token win-condition.
Springjack Shepherd conjures an immediate goat-storm for the same mana cost and can double as a control card via a sudden wall of goats, and provides instant value when returned to the field from the graveyard via Emeria, The Sky Ruin (which can't target Trading Post) or Emeria Shepherd.
Trading Post in comparison, is a non-land card that drops a single goat per turn and has a heal that requires a discard (which is counter-intuitive to the base control strategy of matching your opponent card-for-card) and gives artifact versatility that is meaningless to this deck.

So unlike Red (Fanatic of Mogis) and Black (Gray Merchant of Asphodel) White didn't get a proper Devotion hitter, but before Devotion there was Chroma, which provided Light from Within. In your deck I'd definitely consider it. Another card is Springjack Shepherd, this would be more reliant on your other pumps but might be worth considering.
Hope this is of some help, have fun brewing your deck.

I don't love Springjack Shepherd because tokens don't count toward devotion. Even though it has an etb it doesn't seem like it would necessarily net you all that many tokens/life (depending on your board state at the time obviously).I'd also maybe consider replacing Treasure Hunter with Open the Vaults for a couple reasons. First, more than half your artifacts can be hit by Sun Titan already. Plus, Open the Vaults returns enchantments as well, something you'd have trouble with outside of, again, Sun Titan. Playing mono-white, it'll benefit you more, on average, than it'll help other players. The consideration I suppose is if some of your artifacts care about their own cast triggers but I doubt it?
Also, and I realize this is more suggestions without removals, you don't have much in the way of non-creature removal. Things like Disenchant or Leave No Trace (especially good in a mono-colored deck because 4 of the options don't touch you). Even Valorous Stance could provide good utility. (I know you might have some creatures that destroy on etb but I'm on my phone so it's hard to check.)

Mana curve is super high; should probably run more lesser-drops, and perhaps some more actual Goats.
Thriving Ibex is the only Goat in your actual colors, but it's energy-themed, so it's probably alright if you don't want to run it. That said, it's at least a 3/5 for 4 after attacking once, which isn't bad.
Springjack Shepherd is probably the one you want to run. You might need some more permanents with white mana symbols in the cost to make it worth it, but it can absolutely crap out Goats if you do.

Counters and life good sir! Counters and life! +1 Good of you to display such pieces of high quality magic art!
Are you not waiting for the advent of the gracious Archangel of Thune ? She rocks hard. So does Divinity of Pride. You want lifegain for that good old ghost. I see your playing the sacrifice game like you would with Teysa, Orzhov Scion, but your commander is more lifegain oriented I believe. Of course, you do you. But just saying.
If you are more interested in the token/sacrifice gimmick, maybe a Twilight Drover or a Springjack Shepherd could be of help? Also Secure the Wastes and Deploy to the Front. Oh! and I looooove Deathbringer Liege for the mechanics, but also for the art...
Have a nice day/night!

Although I'm more of a -player, I've always loved devotion decks! :)
If you're looking for sideboard options in a devotion deck there are some pretty neat options in white:
- Leyline of Sanctity against discard / burn / certain combo decks
- Nevermore against combo or to shut down key cards
- Devout Lightcaster against black decks
- Kor Firewalker against burn
- Leonin Relic-Warder as enchantment hate
- Rest in Peace against deck that rely on the graveyard
Since you're playing a reasonably high amount of creatures I would probably move Wrath of God to the sideboard. Journey to Nowhere seems like a good creature removal spell that adds to your devotion count as well as being cheaper than your other removal spells.
What do you think of Springjack Shepherd? Given that you have an enchantment that pumps your goats he can be another win condition.
