Rather then manipulate my own life total, I manipulate that of everyone on the board.

The main feature of the deck revolves around one combo: Artifact Possession + Basalt Monolith . Essentially, I enchant my Monolith, then tap/untap it repeatedly, draining me. I then use cards like Near-Death Experience, or I swap life totals with cards like Axis of Mortality, Profane Transfusion, Mirror Universe, et cetera. However, if I can't get handle such a risky strategy, I use cards like Serra Ascendant to smack my opponents with my own big life total, which is primarily where Oloro comes in. A large part of this deck is reliant on using Vedalken Orrery to flash in cards before my upkeep, and stacking upkeep triggers in a way, such as, 1. Drain myself with the combo listed above. 2. Swap life totals, likely with Axis of Mortality. 3. Upkeep life-gain triggers.

Other key combos are Enduring Tenacity + Exquisite Blood (and identical effects), and Tree of Perdition + Triskaidekaphobia .
