I wanted to build a whole deck around, Tivash, Gloom Summoner but I slowly just lost interest. I was sifting through gain life spells in mono-black, but in all honesty, black life gain is nothing special. If you're going to do black lifegain, just use Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. So yeah, was super excited for Tivash, but my hype fled rapidly after I realized how mediocre he was.

I am building a edh deck with Tivash, Gloom Summoner and wanted some clarification on the ability. It states that at the beginning of your end step you may life to make a demon token. Is his ability to create demon an activated or triggered ability?

There are so many good lifegain cards I could mention, but your deck looks fine. I haven't seen many Licia lists, but I like the way you're taking with it.
Just to list some potentially interesting cards to consider: Vilis, Broker of Blood is insane. Tivash, Gloom Summoner is powerful, as well. You could add in Soul Warden and Soul's Attendant, and Ajani's Pridemate becomes huge in no time. Btw, Sunbond and Light of Promise can turn everything into Pridemate. Pontiff of Blight for more extort seems good here. Beacon of Immortality is a big life splash, and Serra Avatar can become really big.

Skola Grovedancer is a card I recommend if you plan on activating Tayam a lot. I use it in my Tayam deck.
Maybe look into Children of Korlis and Tivash, Gloom Summoner as well. They could be a potent pair.

You do have quite the lifegain/drain package. Might I suggest Vilis, Broker of Blood , K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth Bolas's Citadel and Tivash, Gloom Summoner ?
