Flarhoon13 on Victor's Enchanting Resurrections
3 weeks ago
Dec 20, updated 12 cards but lost again. Thomas took me out first, after dominating with Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools and Lagomos, Hand of Hatred. He had a huge Mob Rule, borrowing a Korvold, Fae-Cursed King. Thomas reminded me that it was my suggestion to add Mob Rule to the deck. He tutored in each of about four turn cycles with Lagomos, Hand of Hatred before sacrificing Juri, Master of the Revue to kill me--28 damage was just a point or two over my life total.
Victor, Valgavoth's Seneschal finally won in its fourth game, its second game with 12 cards updated. We all removed Kalamax, the Stormsire's permanents in a two-hour game. I had Extinguish All Hope and several turns later, Life's Finale targeting Will, on Sovereign Okinec Ahau, was enough for him to concede. Starfield of Nyx returned a ton of enchantments. I stocked my graveyard by drawing 17 with an early Necropotence in response to Ben targeting it with removal. Elspeth Conquers Death made multiple appearances and got an Auramancer to recur the Starfield of Nyx very late game. Legion Loyalty and moreso, Dictate of Erebos, made a huge contribution, thanks also to the Fanatical Devotion. I attacked with my enchantments for the Starfield of Nyx win at 5 life.

Specific changes. All of these changes optimize card draw, tutoring, protection to board state, create synergies and infinite combos, and optimization to allow instant speed responses.
OUT: Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist (thought this would be awesome, disappointed in performance) Assemble the Players (sub-optimal card draw) Aurelia's Fury Bitterthorn, Nissa's Animus (land drops have not been a problem and by the time I draw it, I needed something else) Brimaz, King of Oreskos (love this guy, but had to cut) Chained to the Rocks Elbrus, the Binding Blade Flip (obtained better equipment) Fellwar Stone Hixus, Prison Warden (never happy when I had this in hand because you need to let the damage land, plus you fail to build board state when waiting to draw a punch) Illusionist's Bracers (I realized there was little in this deck that this could help) Kemba, Kha Enduring (I want the option of where the equipment goes) Kjeldoran Outpost (did help create a chump blocker and spend unused mana, but I didn't like losing the land) Lapse of Certainty (replaced with better options, but I love this card) Lightning Helix Path of Mettle Flip (never had good results) Prophetic Flamespeaker (under-performed) Puresteel Paladin (tough cut) Purphoros, God of the Forge (under-performed) Rogue's Passage Sea Gate Wreckage Silverblade Paladin (love this guy, tough cut) Sram, Senior Edificer (very tough and recent cut for Leonin Shikari and Merry, who are just better but I may put back in) Sword of the Animist (land drops have not been a problem and by the time I draw it, I needed something else) Wingmate Roc (love it but under-performed)
In: Esper Sentinel (card draw) Leonin Shikari (instant speed equiping is amazing) Merry, Esquire of Rohan (card draw) Enlightened Tutor (great for combos/synergies) Sigarda's Aid (so great) Pyrohemia (this card is a beast with Iroas! Even without Iroas must people don't have easy ways to deal with enchantments and this is a wraith on a stick. I've added it to all of my red decks and it's cousin (Pestilence) to my black decks in a slot I would normally hold for a wraith) Teferi's Protection (protect the board state) Excalibur, Sword of Eden Fighter Class (tutor!) Angelic Skirmisher (lifelink to stretch game and facilitates infinite combos) Splendor Mare (put it on Reckoner or Spitemare, give them indestructable, and gain infinite life, or move it to pyrohemia with nesting grounds to get massive amounts of life as you flamethrower the whole table!!) Mask of Avacyn (better option then shroud from boots, you need to be able to dynamically react/voltron) Mob Rule (this just finishes games) Smothering Tithe (ramp) Sunforger (some say you must build around this, I say you use this as a key tutor for when you need an instant) Nesting Grounds Spitemare The One Ring (card draw, duh) Minas Tirith (card draw) Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion (value engine, mana dump) Phyrexian Vindicator (beefy flier, helps get Iroas online, and difficult to remove) War of the Last Alliance (tutor) Hall of Heliod's Generosity (bring back pyrohemia and flamethrower the world all over again!!) Mask of Memory (card draw) Boromir, Warden of the Tower (protect board state)
Flarhoon13 on Gay Kings can win through love
1 month ago
May 3, 2024 I started a new quest. Having built 52 decks, I endeavoured to play them all, in roughly the same order as I created them.
June 14ish
Gay Kings can win through love lost, record goes to 14 -13. How did I lose even after casting Minds Aglow for six, Mob Rule into Insurrection? Cody's Amalia Benavides Aguirre just handled it all. Too much lifegain and other punisher enchantments. .519 win percentage.

Lukka, Bonder of Beasts
Legendary Creature - Human Soldier
Lukka, Bonder of Beasts enters the battlefield with X bonder counters on him.
Whenever Lukka deals combat damage to an opponent, put a bonder counter on him and gain control of target nonhuman creature they control with power less than or equal to the number of bonder counters on Lukka. Untap it, it gains haste. Then, if you control four or more creatures you do not own, exile Lukka and return him to the battlefield transformed.
3/3
Lukka, The Rebellion
Legendary Planeswalker - Lukka
Lukka enters the battlefield with X additional loyalty counters where X is the number of creatures you control but do not own.
+2 Untap target nonhuman creature you control, it gets +2/+2 and gains haste until end of turn. If it is legendary it gains an additional +2/+2 and trample until end of turn.
-X Gain control of all nonhuman creatures with power X or less. Untap them, they gain haste.
2
Mob Rule, Insurrection, Call for Aid... Lots of ways to flip Lukka without having to make him land combat damage over and over again
Pick 3 sorcery spells, name them and make a commander based around them

Lavictus, Archdragon of Creation
Legendary Creature - Elder Dragon
This spell can't be countered.
Flying, vigilance, shroud
This creature can't be destroyed unless the player who controls that source pays .
Whenever you cast a creature or enchantment spell, create a token copy of that spell. If the spell is legendary, the token isn't.
7/9
So you can still kill it with board wipes and combat damage, but you'll need to pay an additional mana to do so. If someone were to cast a spell such as Insurrection or Mob Rule which doesn't target and sacrifice him, or a spell such as Crackling Doom, that would bypass the , because "sacrificed" isn't the same as "destroyed"

Chain Devil - really anything causing players to sacrifice nontokens seems to pan out well.
Creative Technique - always demonstrate, it is crazy good particularly in Timmie decks.
Mob Rule - causes so many 1-sided blowouts
Prosperous Partnership - boros ramp that gives you a combatants at the solid 3 mana value
Descent into Avernus - groupslug done well. This can just change the entire outlook of a game.

Heyo happy to chime in! +1 m8
-allThreaten effects in favor of payoffs like Mob Rule, etc... or sticks like Big Game Hunter, Evil Twin, etc. Once you hit any of these you'll be doing the same thing (from your opponents' POV): soft-locking the board.
+6-10 Dusk Legion Zealot, draw, ETC ...I feel like these are MVP and lend to an aristocrats style.
-1 Curse of Stalked Prey... too conditional in the late game
-1 Captivating Crew... too much mana
+1 Vigean Graftmage, or anything that can put counters on Marchesa
+1 Plaguecrafter, etc... these are oppressive engines
With a lot more draw + lower cmc removal/ removal-sticks this will slap!
Gleeock on The only thing I know for real - Blood avatar

Yeah, in my playgroup, since Koma, Cosmos Serpent is fair game - Mob Rule & other mass control grabbers are fair game. But, my favorite thing with Extus, Oriq Overlord Flip is versatility & differences of buildability. I also like how you can sub strategize more effectively with him than other hyper-focused decks. For exampl,e I have changed my whole focus for a game by starting with a Shadowspear in hand - that puppy is hilarious strapped onto a blood avatar. Or I have started with a sword of x/y & actually started with the Extus side just because of double-striking sword-wielding commander is a solid way to go.
