Phyrexian Vindicator

Creature — Phyrexian Horror

Flying If damage would be dealt to Phyrexian Vindicator, prevent that damage. When damage is prevented this way, Phyrexian Vindicator deals that much damage to any other target.

How about:

  1. Phyrexian Vindicator, solves flying and deters combat.

  2. Since you have Brave the Sands, you can use Defensive Formation to assign blocked damage how you choose.

  3. Some runner ups Boromir, Warden of the Tower, Aven Mindcensor, Ghostly Prison, Maze of Ith.

Thanks for the comment Poly_raptor. I completely understand that life happens. Glad to have you back!

This version of the deck is pretty outdated at this point. I've moved into the Bant color shard so I can play Swans of Bryn Argoll and a number clones to increase the Phyrexian Vindicator and Swan amount in the deck. With that being said, more creature tutors is probably a good idea. The deck currently transitions well into commander beats (I run Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker as one of the commanders), but it's a lot more fun when I get Vindicator or Swans out and start cloning them.

Good day folks,

I run an Iroas, God of Victory commander deck and I always look for creatures with high devotion when a new set releases, and Phyrexian Vindicator got my attention.

But then I realized that when attacking, the damage to the Vindicator would be prevented by Iroas' ability, and not by the Vindicator's; and Vindicator clearly says that to do its trick the damage should be prevented by its own ability ("When damage is prevented this way...")

Am I able to choose what "barrier" of damage prevention is being applied to a Vindicator I control? Or at the moment it attacks Iroas' "barrier" kicks in and nullifies the Vindicator's? Because if this is the case, I don't think it'll be worth a slot in the deck.

If the answer could be backed up with the rule It'd be very helpful!

Thanks in advance!
Lil Cheez

Comment coming shortly awesomedude20.

Here is my new Selesnya burn brew built around Phyrexian Vindicator. Boros would be more effective, but running green lets me mess around with Lure and fight effects. Thought's and comments are appreciated!
