Apoptosis on Gear Up!

Specific changes. All of these changes optimize card draw, tutoring, protection to board state, create synergies and infinite combos, and optimization to allow instant speed responses.

OUT: Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist (thought this would be awesome, disappointed in performance) Assemble the Players (sub-optimal card draw) Aurelia's Fury Bitterthorn, Nissa's Animus (land drops have not been a problem and by the time I draw it, I needed something else) Brimaz, King of Oreskos (love this guy, but had to cut) Chained to the Rocks Elbrus, the Binding Blade  Flip (obtained better equipment) Fellwar Stone Hixus, Prison Warden (never happy when I had this in hand because you need to let the damage land, plus you fail to build board state when waiting to draw a punch) Illusionist's Bracers (I realized there was little in this deck that this could help) Kemba, Kha Enduring (I want the option of where the equipment goes) Kjeldoran Outpost (did help create a chump blocker and spend unused mana, but I didn't like losing the land) Lapse of Certainty (replaced with better options, but I love this card) Lightning Helix Path of Mettle  Flip (never had good results) Prophetic Flamespeaker (under-performed) Puresteel Paladin (tough cut) Purphoros, God of the Forge (under-performed) Rogue's Passage Sea Gate Wreckage Silverblade Paladin (love this guy, tough cut) Sram, Senior Edificer (very tough and recent cut for Leonin Shikari and Merry, who are just better but I may put back in) Sword of the Animist (land drops have not been a problem and by the time I draw it, I needed something else) Wingmate Roc (love it but under-performed)

In: Esper Sentinel (card draw) Leonin Shikari (instant speed equiping is amazing) Merry, Esquire of Rohan (card draw) Enlightened Tutor (great for combos/synergies) Sigarda's Aid (so great) Pyrohemia (this card is a beast with Iroas! Even without Iroas must people don't have easy ways to deal with enchantments and this is a wraith on a stick. I've added it to all of my red decks and it's cousin (Pestilence) to my black decks in a slot I would normally hold for a wraith) Teferi's Protection (protect the board state) Excalibur, Sword of Eden Fighter Class (tutor!) Angelic Skirmisher (lifelink to stretch game and facilitates infinite combos) Splendor Mare (put it on Reckoner or Spitemare, give them indestructable, and gain infinite life, or move it to pyrohemia with nesting grounds to get massive amounts of life as you flamethrower the whole table!!) Mask of Avacyn (better option then shroud from boots, you need to be able to dynamically react/voltron) Mob Rule (this just finishes games) Smothering Tithe (ramp) Sunforger (some say you must build around this, I say you use this as a key tutor for when you need an instant) Nesting Grounds Spitemare The One Ring (card draw, duh) Minas Tirith (card draw) Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion (value engine, mana dump) Phyrexian Vindicator (beefy flier, helps get Iroas online, and difficult to remove) War of the Last Alliance (tutor) Hall of Heliod's Generosity (bring back pyrohemia and flamethrower the world all over again!!) Mask of Memory (card draw) Boromir, Warden of the Tower (protect board state)

Do you have a reliable source of toys for Rarity and Applejack?

Outside of the MLP cards, Unicorns kind of have a +1/+1 counter theme with Emiel the Blessed, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, and Good-Fortune Unicorn. Lathiel and Celestial Unicorn tie that to life gain, with Splendor Mare and Brightmare offering further options there. There's also a little bit of ETB that Emiel can set up.

Horses don't have much of a unified theme or depth. Pick from these as needed, I guess.

Adding in Pegasi, they all have flying to help Rainbow Dash, but that's about it. Park Heights Pegasus plays well with Emiel.

The creature base looks very -heavy, with in second. There's not a ton of independent token depth. Group hug would be very on-theme, but my crippling lack of knowledge about the franchise prevents me from offering any thematic suggestions. Legendary creatures matter could work here. Do you want to get Princess Twilight Sparkle out every game, or just use her as support when needed?

Kellan: Ano'thr, Equipment Commander. Anyway, still pretty neat; leans into stuff like Anduril, Flame of the West and Cathar's Call

Agatha: AFAIK she gives a discount on her own ability.

Stroke of Midnight: surprised they're going on with Generous Gift variants but I'm all for it. (I don't really get Ash's flavor tho.)

Rowan/Will: Both are neat, although I think Rowan goes into much more interesting design space, even if she has a serious case of PTSD.

Ruby: So uh she never actually used a crossbow in the story right? Just threw stuff and eventually got an ice sword?

Troyan: The most chill vedalken since Putrid Leech's buddies?

Hylda/Sharae: feels kinda weird to have these two in the same set

Greta: does making Food:s into Clues really require you to lose life?

Johann: compare the cost of Melek, Izzet Paragon. Not bad for an uncommon commander

Goose Mother: feels kinda weird that it wants you to eat its eggs

Syr Ginger: meh, kinda underwhelming? At least the anti-planeswalker ability is funny. Could have granted indestructible.

Alela: meh, goading at most one creature per opponent (well, two with double strike) is kinda underwhelming.

Cursed Courtier: you know, Splendor Mare wasn't that long ago? Oh well, enchantments/auras matters I guess. I actually hope this kind of designed gets used more, if with a bit better base P/T for the cost.

Have you considered Fatal Blow to kill big creatures at instant speed? I'm not sure if it's better or worse than the sorcery speed Mire, which can be played earlier with extra mana. I also wonder if Dark Ritual isn't worth a look, it's budget but it can offer some impressive speed, or can let you pump extra mana into Pestilence. Not sure if it'd be worthwhile, but Crypt Rats exist. Being a creature makes them easy to interact with, both for you and your opponent.

A thing I saw on a Jumbo Commander video, you can put a Lifelink Counter onto Pestilence and it'll still work, which is objectively hilarious. Nesting Grounds is an easy way to do it. Boot Nipper, Grimdancer, and Crystalline Giant are potential sources, as is Splendor Mare or Unexpected Fangs. Now that I think of it, giving Pestilence a Deathtouch Counter would also be objectively funny, since your Pro Black stuff isn't damaged, everything else dies from B pretty much, and if you've got extra lifelink, being able to put a Lifelink counter on your attacker sounds pretty solid too if you can't get a Nesting Grounds out.

It can potentially blow up in your face, but Phyrexian Totem can be a nice dual purpose card, 2B to turn your 3 mana rock into a 5/5 Trample is pretty good, and it also ramps you. It can help close out games faster if you're behind, provided Pestilence got you close enough to a win. Your deck has a high average MV in my opinion, so some ramp might not hurt, provided the ramp can do more than just ramp. The only drawback of using Totem is that you can't as easily use Pestilence once it's a body, but I'm not sure that's a huge issue.

Just a thought, but is 3 Pestilence enough? You seem pretty dependent on getting it out, not sure how well your deck works if you can't, or it's removed somehow.

Really like this deck, looks like lots of fun! I wonder if a higher budget version could be built that works with Brash Taunter and benefits from access to Pyrohemia, for use in 1v1 competitive play, Rakdos has some acceleration at least.

Try out Glint-Horn Buccaneer instead of Splendor Mare, so you have an additional method of dealing damage.

Well, this deck has a "cycling" sub-theme, and some cards are there as cantrips and occasionally as blockers such as Splendor Mare.

I know that probably this isn't the best fox deck out there but I'm trying to keep it not so oppressive, cause my playgroup is kinda casual.

I don't know if I'm going to run Heliod, Sun-Crowned in this deck, just because it's just a combo piece, but it doesn't help the deck in other ways...

Anyway, hank you for the advices! I'm going to list the combo asap! :)
