Sideboard

Sorcery (1)

Creature (1)

This was my first EDH deck which I built for Friday nights with friends, but has evolved into a deck I'll be playing in an upcoming tournament. There are several win cons, but the big one is to create an infinite mana loop with Reiterate and a mana generation spell (Seething Song, Desperate Ritual or Pyretic Ritual) to generate infinite red mana. This is done by holding your mana spell on the stack, casting Reiterate for its Buyback cost (which is discounted by Mizzix's experience counters) and letting the copy resolve, then holding priority after it resolves and Reiterating the original again, each time paying less mana to Buyback Reiterate than you're getting from your copied mana spell. To get this to work, you'll need at least four experience counters on Mizzix, to reduce the cost of Reiterate enough that you'll generate infinite mana with either Ritual spell. With all that mana, you can then devastate the entire board in any number of entertaining ways. A Kicked Comet Storm is my go to, but using Reiterate to repeatedly cast Banefire, Lightning Bolt, Expansion / Explosion or Blue Sun's Zenith also work just fine. The secondary win-con is Insurrection. If all else fails, wait til the endgame, and then just pour as much mana as you can into your burn spells into finish people off. The rest of the deck is dedicated to typical blue control shenanigans, cantrips/card draw/tutors to dig for combo pieces (especially Firemind's Foresight, which can grab the entire main combo: Reiterate, Desperate Ritual/Pyretic Ritual, and Lightning Bolt), huge gobs of ramp to power Mizzix's big spells, and several protection items for Mizzix (such as Clout of the Dominus and Diplomatic Immunity) to keep Mizzix from being continually removed, since she tends to be a very high priority target.

Short version, if you don't care for creatures, if you like control, if you like durdling for the entire game only to randomly explode the board with no warning, and if you have someone you really want to feed a five million damage Banefire, then you will probably enjoy this deck!
