Ayara Aristocrats

A Change of Face:

I absolutely love my Yawgmoth, Thran Physician deck, but it is far too powerful to play against friends. Yawg is not only an amazing value commander, he's also a combo piece in a long list of combos. While he is the pinnacle of Mono-Black Aristocrats, he is also extremely oppressive. So, after some months of my Yawgmocrats deck collecting dust, I decided the deck needed some toning down. Ayara, First of Locthwain peaked my interest and she was already in my Yawg deck. So, I decided it's time I start playing Mono-Black Aristocrats again (a theme I really missed playing) with Ayara at the helm and Yawg in the 99.

Self-Reanimators:

I traded out the Yawg-Undying combos for more creatures that can bring themselves back from the graveyard, to either the battlefield or hand. Creatures like Nether Traitor, Bloodghast, Relentless Dead, Reassembling Skeleton, Bloodsoaked Champion, Gravecrawler, and Gutterbones can all bring themselves back from the graveyard.

Token Production:

Token production is the cornerstone of Aristocrats, since they make the best sac fodder. Token makers like Abhorrent Overlord, Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder, Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, Ophiomancer, Desecrated Tomb, Bitterblossom, and Dreadhorde Invasion all produce valuable sac fodder. The important thing with these token makers is that they make Black Creature Tokens which is helpful in triggering Ayara's ping ability.

Sacrifice Outlets:

Ayara has a pretty useful sac ability, but unfortunately it is a tap down ability. So, I included some other great sac outlets, like Phyrexian Altar, Ashnod's Altar, Attrition, Gate to Phyrexia, Erebos, Bleak-Hearted, and Priest of Forgotten Gods. I also included Skullclamp, because it's basically a token sac outlet in this deck.

Recursion:

Recursion is another important piece in an Aristocrats deck. So, I included cards like Chainer, Dementia Master, Agadeem's Awakening  , and Phyrexian Reclamation to keep your creatures coming back.

Lastly, although I designed this deck around Ayara, I also designed it to be helmed by multiple Legends in the 99 (foil cards on the decklist represent possible commander options). Each possible commander brings it's own style to the deck too:

Ayara, First of Locthwain: Focused on Pinging Through ETBs

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician: Focused on Saccing for Value

Erebos, Bleak-Hearted: Focused on Saccing to Control the Opponents' Boards

Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder: Focused on Amassing Large Amounts of Sac Fodder

Chainer, Dementia Master: Focused on Recurring Creatures from the Graveyard

Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet: Focused on Hating out Opponents' Creatures

I tried to make this deck a Mono-Black Aristocrats Swiss Army Knife.
