Battlegrace Angel Discussion

Hey, interesting brew combining Goblins with Aurelia. White gives you lots of good support cards for Goblins that red doesn't offer.
This deck's budget is very low. It's going to be difficult to make any real improvements without spending an extra $15, but a $15 upgrade could do a lot for your deck. Even a $10 upgrade can help quite a bit.
Good budget ($3 or less each) cards to consider adding:
- Battlefield Forge
- Command Tower
- Needle Spires
- Open the Armory : tutor for Skullclamp .
- Frontline Medic : repeatable indestructibility for your attacking creatures. Can be reanimated with Titan or Teshar.
- Talisman of Conviction
- Commander's Sphere
- Assemble the Legion : repeatable source of tokens.
- Swords to Plowshares
- Boros Charm
- Generous Gift : instant, destroy any permanent.
- Duergar Hedge-Mage : can potentially destroy both an artifact and enchantment. Can be reanimated with Titan or Teshar.
- Faithless Looting
This could be a about $15 upgrade. Tower and Forge are two Boros dual lands that ETB (enter the battlefield) untapped which is helpful in game play. Tower is one of the best lands to play in mulicolored Commander decks. Cut Plains for these lands.
Armory gives you more opportunity to get Skullclamp because it's is by far your best repeatable source of draw because of having many sources of 1/1 Goblins. Assemble can be another repeatable source of 1/1 tokens and if not dealt with by opponents can create a lot of value over the course of turns. Adding more mana rocks that can make white mana is helpful to be able to reduce the number of Plains in the manabase.
Cards to consider cutting:
- 6x Plains
- Sephara, Sky's Blade
- Battlegrace Angel
- Baird, Steward of Argive
- Sublime Archangel
- Archetype of Courage
- Angelic Exaltation
- Aerial Assault
- Tormenting Voice
- Wand of Vertebrae
- Sigil of Valor
40 lands is a lot of lands and when you have this many basic lands it's very likely you'll get consistently land flooded which is not fun. My advice is to reduce the number of Plains. If doing this then cut the casting cost cards because white is the secondary color, red is the primary color since you need lots more red for Goblins.
In my opinion Titan and Aurelia are the only worth keeping because they're six drops which makes it easier to have double white mana available when you want to cast them. Archetype of Courage is a good card, but having consistently for a three drop is not something you should have to worry about.

Hey, I'm also in process of cashing out, of Standard. I can't take Wizards bullshit with that format anymore, but I'm still going to play Commander :)
I make and play causal budget multiplayer Commander decks. I try to limit cards to $6 or less each. Of course there are some exceptions mostly lands/tutors, but for the most part I stick to this rule. I love Commander because I can buy a single staple card and then use that card in all my decks.
This is currently what I'm doing is buying singles of all the budget staple cards for Commander. It's especially helpful with lands because lands take up the largest portion of cost of a Commander deck, but I only need a single copy of a land which I can then use in all my decks. The cost of lands is one reason why I'm leaving Standard. I can no longer justify the cost of playable manabases, there are not enough options.
Some staples in Bant colors as well as other Angels to consider:
- Mystic Remora
- Smothering Tithe
- Swords to Plowshares
- Eladamri's Call
- Mystical Tutor
- Arcane Denial
- Beast Within
- Return to Dust
- Nature's Claim
- Supreme Verdict
- Day of Judgment
- Detention Sphere
- Sublime Archangel
- Stoic Angel
- Karmic Guide
- Shalai, Voice of Plenty
- Angel of Serenity
- Luminarch Ascension
Jenara can grow her own power with her ability this makes her a good attacker and an excellent source of Commander damage to your opponents. Exalted is a way to take more advantage of Jenara by giving her additional power as long as she's the only creature attacking.
I'm offering all these other cards suggestions, but in my opinion priority for upgrades to consider here are the lands and mana production.

In my experience playing Temmet, a mechanic that can help a lot is exalted. Cards like Battlegrace Angel and Sublime Archangel are great for getting extra damage in from your tokens. Also I've found that Silverblade Paladin is another handy card to soulbond with your tokens for extra damage. Reef Worm is another really good token creator for this type of deck I'd suggest you consider.

From first look some cards you might want to take out are: Battlegrace Angel, Dawnglare Invoker, Orim's Thunder, Seer's Sundial, Staff of Nin, Curse of the Nightly Hunt, Faith's Fetters, Warstorm Surge.
I know you dont want to spend that much money on this deck but here are some quick cards that you might want to add: Sower of Discord, Steel Hellkite, Bloodgift Demon, Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Swords to Plowshares, Angelic Arbiter, Indulgent Tormentor, Utter End, Terminate, Chaos Warp, Unmake, Cataclysm, Quicksilver Amulet, Strionic Resonator, Blood Speaker, Rune-Scarred Demon, Sarkhan's Triumph, Armageddon, Bontu's Last Reckoning, Crux of Fate, Day of Judgment, Fumigate, Exotic Orchard, Battlefield Forge, Caves of Koilos, Relentless Assault, Angelic Skirmisher, Harvester of Souls, Rogue's Passage.
I think some of these cards are better options then what you have right now.

In your maybeboard I like:
Giltspire Avenger Exalted and can deter attackers, but 3 colors and $1+ makes sense to be a cut.
I would make room for Battlegrace Angel, has exalted and gives your Exalted Attacker lifelink. $0.56!
Cathedral of War was the land I was thinking about Friday, but it's $1.50! Can't include.
Sovereigns of Lost Alara is very powerful, tutors the exact aura you need for any situation, and probably makes them unblockable or lifelink in the process. With every strike it becomes lethal. $5 hard to account for but might be a way.
Rhox Charger is exalted and he has built in Trample, 3/3 Exalted for CMC4 isn't too bad for $0.25.
Stoic Angel would be an auto-include for me, especially with all of your guys making creatures come into play tapped. Swing with your Vigilance (Flying) Angel alone, and avoid any type of counter-strike from opponents. No going to find a better card for $0.50.
Grunn, the Lonely King is another option, he's CMC6 for 5/5 no Trample, but when he attacks, Stack his triggered ability, and then layer on all the Exalted, after the exalted get added, he doubles himself. If you have the kicker 3 a 10/10 for 9 is still ok. Needs a Rancor but he's pretty reasonable, especially with all the built in evasion effects.
Suprised you don't have Knotvine Paladin, he gets +1 from the Exalted ability, and stacks a second +1 for each "untapped" creature, which they all are, so doubles the Exalted when he attacks, another good finisher like Grunn, the Lonely King when evasion is available.
Cold-Eyed Selkie can draw some cards, since your not using blue much you don't have as much draw, since he's still works. Also if you can Exalted and Islandwalk someone, can repopulate your hand.
Swords to Plowshares is the best removal in Budget for $1.
Sigil of Valor is the exalted equipment because it doubles the Exalted effects!.
Sigil of the Nayan Gods not bad, because if it useless, it has Cycling.
I'll continue further review later, off the top of my head,
Reciprocate generally bad, once it's hit your life it's too late, someone (situational) it will be good, but most creatures you NEED to remove aren't attacking, and if they are, the specifically have to attack you, and you have to choose to let them hit your life. Condemn is better because it can attack anyone, and doesn't have to connect to your life specifically.
Skarrg Goliath is too high CMC to be useful, and his bloodlust is also too high CMC.
More to come later, I used to have a Daxos of Meletis deck, so I have some ideas, but I utilized the quite a bit more. Fun Selesnya build. +1.

Based on what I've seen, I'd recommend cutting:
Dusk : This kills 48% of the creatures in your own deck.
Battlegrace Angel : with all your tokens and other angels, you'll rarely have anyone attacking alone.
Confessor : in a lot of cases, this guy won't do much.
Graceblade Artisan : not enough auras to make this dude worth it
Herald of Dromoka : there's only two warriors in the deck, so he doesnt have much combo potential
Things I'd suggest adding:
If you want more suggestions, lemme know and I can provide them. IF you need to trim down more creatures, try looking for things that are outside the theme of your deck. For example, it seems your focus is many small white creatures, life gain, big flyers/angels, and +1/+1 counters, so it would make sense to start trimming down by removing things that don't fit with that theme.
Good luck and happy decking! -Toothy

Ahhh great to see a big army of angels, so +1 just for that!
That said, I think you should lower your average CMC a bit, since twelve 7+ drops can be problematic even in casual games (and almost half of your deck costs 5 or more to play anyway). As much as I love all those huge-ass angels, maybe you could replace some of them with cheap but powerful 4-5 drops like Battlegrace Angel (lifelink), Angel of Jubilation (lord + anti-black) or Seraph of the Sword, or if you have some more money available, then you have many more to choose from like Archangel of Tithes (combat control), Shalai, Voice of Plenty (hexproof for everyone), Restoration Angel (for re-triggering enter the battlefield effects, including Seraph Sanctuary), or the golden trio of lifelink angels: Baneslayer Angel, Archangel of Thune and Gisela, the Broken Blade.
As more concrete suggestions, I think Seraph of the Sword is better than both Serra Avenger (since you can't play her until turn 4 anyway) and Guardian of the Gateless. Also I would swap Angelic Arbiter for Archangel of Tithes or Battlegrace Angel, and take out Reya Dawnbringer and Angel of the Dire Hour for some of the others I mentioned.
