Selvala, Explorer Returned or: How to Mill in G/W

Commander / EDH

acedentprone

Introduction

An insane general triggers a path to nuclear holocaust that a war room full of politicians and generals frantically try to stop... or something.
Selvala, as I built her, is a powerful green white value deck. You build advantage through a wide variety of strong green/white creatures. Using your spells to find the pieces you need and dealing with permanents. Eventually assemble the combo of Selvala, Explorer Returned + Umbral Mantle to accelerate you victory.

Deck Overview

Green and White () is one of the most powerful color combinations in Commander. It is a format of big mana and powerful spells. Green() has the best ramp in the game, allowing you to play the biggest spells the fastest or do more in a turn than other colors. White() has some of the most powerful spells and can handle anything in the game. Selvala, Explorer Returned is an excellent Commander because it draws you into your threats and answers as well as gives you the mana to cast them.
The deck is a toolbox. It has an answer to everything. It has a lot of mana, with the ability to ramp and doesn't rely on any one strategy to do so, (mana rocks, mana dorks, and spells). It has multiple ways to win the game. Dump your excess mana into Helix Pinnacle, combo out with Selvala, Explorer Returned + Umbral Mantle , or crush your opponents with Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite. This deck is helped a lot by politics, it appears to be an unassuming weenie deck.
The deck is hard to play. You have a lot of options and answers and what is optimal is hard to figure out. You are somewhat a weenie deck so you can't just beat down because other people go bigger.
