Xenagod's place in the pantheon of Gruul Commanders is uncontested. He is Gruul. Not claiming to be unique here! But I've playtested this deck extensively and it's got me feeling very excited. This deck doesn't just smash. It ramps, it draws, it does non-combat damage. The value chains almost feel like you're going infinite for a creature deck like this. Very fun. For me.

My inspiration comes from the Stomp, Stomp premade available on Magic Arena. That deck rewards playing efficient/valuable creatures with power 4 or greater with ETB effects like card-draw, basically ferocious from Khans of Tarkir. The deck focuses mostly on-ramp to get Big Stuff to fuel draw engine effects like Garruk's Packleader and Elemental Bond .

But it's not JUST a stompy creature deck. Of course, I want big stuff. But that big stuff gives me the dirdle value plays. I want ETB damage and draw effects. And when those big boys come out, I want cards like Selvala, Heart of the Wilds and Alena, Kessig Trapper, and Neheb, the Eternal to let me play MORE stuff. I want FREE stuff from Sunbird's Invocation and Flameshadow Conjuring . I want my Xanadaddy to double my Malignus and then I want to Traverse the Outlands while Moraug, Fury of Akoum is out. I want to do all that while Terror of the Peaks is out. Maybe two of them! And Sarkhan's Unsealing for good measure, damn it. And just when you think I'm done, maybe I Chandra's Ignition that 40/40 monstrosity.

I don't want to JUST Dirdle. I want to DIRDLE BIG!

Open to feedback. This isn't on the expensive end, but it's not cheap either. Not afraid of spending more. Open to suggestions! I know I haven't selected the BEST stuff yet, but I wanted to get the bones down first and hopefully get some feedback from this wonderful community.
