As a big-time Johnny player, I started out building this deck as a combo deck, but it's also very Spiky.

Key combos are the following:

1. Archaeomancer + Capsize + Time Stretch

2. Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth

3. Doomsday + Laboratory Maniac + Vampiric Tutor

These are obviously some very fragile combos, but I have many ways to back them up; the following cards are ways to counter spells and interfere with other cards that can prevent me from going off with these combos:

1. Reduce to Dreams

2. Deathgrip and Stromgald Cabal are both to stop artifacts and enchantments, because U/B has a hard time to deal with those permanents

3. Gloom

4. Into the Roil

5. Evacuation

6. Cyclonic Rift

7. Cryptic Command

8. Clutch of the Undercity
