My Avacyn, Angel of Hope commander deck. I built this mostly to finish my cycle of angel commanders, and because I had an extra copy of Avacyn from the From the Vault: Angels set.

This deck is 100% meant to be flavorful, and is in no way a competitive EDH deck. That said, I have managed to win once or twice through massive life gain and shutting down the opponents' strategies. But really, it's just fun to play all the angels.

In addition to Avacyn, I included other mega-legends Akroma, Angel of Wrath, Iona, Shield of Emeria, and Reya Dawnbringer. All three are powerhouses once down. Other strong cards are Admonition Angel for removal, Angel of Jubilation to shut down sacrifice strategies, Archangel of Thune for lifegain and to pump up the army, Guardian of the Gateless who can block any number of creatures without fear when the commander's out, and Platinum Angel for obvious reasons.

Most of the other cards are protection or life gain oriented, and a number produce angel tokens, such as Luminarch Ascension, Angelic Accord, Sigil of the Empty Throne, Moonsilver Spear, and of course Entreat the Angels. I also wanted to throw in a fair amount of board sweep as well, many of which are also very on flavor. Once Avacyn's out, they can also turn most board sweeps into a one-sided proposition, which is devastating.

The main things this deck are lacking are spot removal and card draw. For removal, Banishing Light and Oblivion Ring are basically the only options at this point, and there's really nothing in the way of card draw. This can be a problem in the late game, so I'm still trying to figure out what on-flavor strategy I can employ for that. So far the only card I can really think of is Angelheart Vial, but if it keeps being a problem I'll probably hunt down some more artifacts.

In all, it's a pretty fun deck to play, just thematically speaking. And when it works, rare as that is, it's awesome.
