Maybeboard


Introduction:

Jund is my favorite combination for lands matter. This is sort of a combo deck since victory often comes from a huge landfall turn, however this list is also capable of generating a lot of value over time and playing a longer grindy game. As a commander Soul of Windgrace offers a lot of utility and I like that he tends to stick around after entering the battlefield.


Strong synergies include:

  1. Scapeshift or Reshape the Earth + Dryad of the Ilysian Grove (or equivalent) into Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle or Dread Presence

  2. Need for Speed + Titania, Protector of Argothfoil

  3. Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage

  4. Crucible of Worlds + Fetch Land + Play additional land effect

  5. Cloudstone Curio + Landfall + Play additional land effect

  6. Bitter Reunion dumps a land in the graveyard early and doubles as a win-con later on a mass token production turn.


Notable Omissions:

Although I've built this deck with the goal of winning games, there are a few extremely high powered synergies I have chosen not to include since I pretty much exclusively play in a more powerful-yet-still-casual setting:

  • Constant Mists: this card can be basically impossible to stop without the right tools.
  • Glacial Chasm is in the maybe board at the moment for similar reasons.
  • Strip Mine etc: I don't want this to be a land destruction deck.
  • A bunch of tutors to keep my games more varied.
