Maybeboard

Enchantment (1)

New deck. Playtest phase. Will this work?

Update: This has potential.

Straight off, the largest flaw is the reliance on Alaundo the Seer for his activated ability to continue rolling time counters off of exiled cards. Opponents will not allow him to stay on the field once they see how fast time counters count down with repeated tap/untap effects. Protecting him with cards like Swiftfoot Boots and Esior, Wardwing Familiar are highly encouraged, but beware of giving Shroud like Lightning Greaves does as you may want to target Alaundo with your own spells or abilities.

A small hinderance, not necessarily a flaw, is the amount of upkeep and triggers to constantly maintain if this deck starts to go off, but this may just be end user(me). Cards like Seedborn Muse, Quest for Renewal, and Teferi's Ageless Insight will increase the amount of items to track quick. Be sure to have dice and room for exiled cards so things do not get mixed up with your board state.

The commander needs to hit the field as quick as possible to get his activated ability going. His ability does not give Suspend. Make sure to understand the differences between this commander's ability and cards with the Suspend ability. This deck also does not run many board wipe cards. If we have a board wipe in our hand as our last card after activating the commander, THAT card will go into exile with time counters on it regardless of want or need. Then eventually that card will be cast and well, that why they are not in here...yet. Do not have enough Cyclonic Rift cards for every deck.

In this deck I decided to win through large creatures mixed with support. Maintaining a balance of untap effects and the ability to win is tricky. So throwing big nasty Krakens at opponents was the choice. Spells are constantly being cast with the commander so Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle and Hullbreaker Horror will surprise and shut down troublesome threats. Speed up the time counters being ticked off with Jhoira's Timebug.

Too much untap effects can lead to a bloated deck without a strategy to nab a win. There are many untap effects out there, too much and Alaundo will certainly tap dance, but be sure to still have a way to win. Stalling opponents with Fog Bank or Propaganda are excellent maybe cards.

Side note, there are many take an extra turn cards in this deck mostly as a nod to Alaundo's lore. Plus, who doesn't like extra turns besides your opponents?
