Swapped Summary Dismissal for Fierce Guardianship. Mainly because I still have no clue how to use Dismissal.

You mentioned wanting wincons other than Lab Maniac. I'll start out with a couple ways to produce infinite mana:Grim Monolith or Basalt Monolith+Power Artifact
Palinchron+Gauntlet of Power Caged Sun High Tide Extraplanar Lens (Any mana doubler)

With this mana you can:Steal everything with Memnarch
Bounce everything with Capsize
Draw your deck or mill one person with Blue Sun's Zenith
Mill everyone with Ambassador Laquatus
Play Omniscience

You could also go aggro with something like Coat of Arms/Door of Destinies/Diviner's Wand and Nameless One, maybe throw Wonder in for good measure. :P

Thanks Burgdawg, I'll take these into consideration. I really would like to get a Diviner's Wand and some other mana producing cards. Memnarch sounds cool, especially since he's a Wizard too. Maybe I'll try to grab some of these when I go to FNM tomorrow with a friend since we only go there to play EDH anyway since they have a couple EDH groups that go there.

Hi! Thank you for the +1. Decided to come take a look at your list since you were so kind. My philosophy is that there are about 3 main ways of building Azami. Aggro, combo control (with extra turns), and combo control (without extra turns). The difference being that you'll run more actual control spells and cards that help you net draw in lieu of extra turn spells in the extra turnless version. Your deck looks like a decent start to a combo control list without extra turns. I'm gonna recommend that you cut your higher drops like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and Enter the Infinite, as they really aren't necessary. I also highly recommend that you run Long-Term Plans as well as Consecrated Sphinx and Rhystic Study. The extra turn variant has the benefit in not having to run these spells because getting an extra turn will net you more card draw as long as you continually build your boardstate. The upside to running Azami without extra turns however, is that you will win the long and grindy matches because you will run more control. I can definitely have ideas as to what else to cut from this deck if you'd like to hear them, but I'll just leave you with this advice for now.

AzamiLadyofScrolls thanks for the upvote and the comment!

Yeah, mine is more of a combo control w/o the extra turns. I like it so far. And yeah, I feel like I should take out Jin-Gitaxias and EtE, as I really don't even play them. I do like Jin though, as I do like his effect, but never can get him out. I would like to get a Rhystic Study and a Consy. However Consy is a little bit out of my price range.

As for the extra turns, I used to run Temporal Trespass, but want to get the one that I can Miracle cast the next turn if I search it with Mystical Tutor. But I don't really want to rely too much on the extra turns. I'm also thinking of getting Propaganda as well, to slow down aggro decks.

Also, I'm all ears for any more card suggestions you might have!

I'm gonna recommend that you either go full combo control without extra turns or go combo control with extra turns. Don't try to slide 1 or 2 extra turn spells into a list that isn't built for them cause it won't work out too well. The extra turn spell you were thinking of is Temporal Mastery (I use the synergy between it and Mystical Tutor as you were describing, quite often in my list). Propaganda is definitely a great choice if you plan to go extra turnless.

In terms of cuts I recommend

Nameless One, Wonder, Treasure Mage, Caged Sun, Chasm Skulker, Memnarch, Ambassador Laquatus, Venser's Journal, Jace, Architect of Thought, Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, Sphinx's Tutelage, Thought Reflection, Diviner's Wand, Supreme Inquisitor, Graceful Adept, Phyrexian Ingester, Thassa, God of the Sea, Cosi's Trickster, Dakra Mystic, Clever Impersonator

In terms of cards I recommend

Intruder Alarm, Sensei's Divining Top (May be out of your price range, but is a must have for this deck), Delay, Unsubstantiate, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir (Somewhat expensive, but very strong), Memory Lapse, Sidisi's Faithful, Martyr of Frost, Sage of Epityr, Scroll Rack (May be out of your price range, but is very strong), Phyrexian Metamorph,

I would recommend a lot of other cards, but I'm guessing they're out of your price range. Unfortunately, Azami costs quite a bit to build well. I hope this helps though.

AzamiLadyofScrolls, finally got a Consy and a Top for this deck at FNM last night. Totally worth it! Played a few games of EDH too, and Top actually did wonders for the deck. Consy, not so much. Anyway, what else would you recommend for my deck?

Hey there. This list looks better than it did last time, but there are quite a few improvements you can make. Isochron Scepter + Dramatic reversal combo is the best combo you can run in her as of now in my opinion (I see that you're running Dramatic but no Isochron. I'm guessing you mainly combo with Sigil Tracer). If you run this combo you will need to run more rocks which you should be running a decent amount in Azami. You should definitely get rid of Mindlock Orb. Azami LOVES to tutor for things, having Mindlock Orb in your deck is going to hinder you a lot more than most other players. Get rid of any counter spells that are 3+ mana cause they just aren't efficient. There are a bunch of great 2 mana counter spells available. Also, get rid of any 5+ mana wizards they are going to slow you down quite a bit and their effects aren't generally worth it. Check my list or other competitive lists for good substitutes for cards. Once you've completed those steps I am happy to reevaluate your list.

AzamiLadyofScrolls, thanks for your input again! I might try that combo now, got myself an Isochron Scepter earlier today at a local. For mana rocks, what would some other good ones be? Mindlock Orb I put in just to slow down my opponents, as it doesn't really hurt me, considering I only have 2 tutor effects. The counterspells I have are good, not unless there's other good ones besides Force of Will. As for the 5+cmc Wizards, I could definitely take out a couple, but I really do like Supreme Inquisitor. Also, am I overdoing it with Omniscience and the Leyline of Anticipation? And, just ordered a Jace, the Mind Sculptor online for this deck earlier, can't wait to play him in here!

In terms of recommendations for rocks Mana Crypt, Sky Diamond, Coldsteel Heart, Star Compass, Mana Vault, Fellwar Stone, Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Mox Opal etc. (see my list for more worthy rocks)

You should be running more than 2 tutors in Azami. I'd highly recommend Muddle the Mixture and Long-Term Plans

There are definitely other good counter spells you don't have Remand, Arcane Denial, Mana Drain, Memory Lapse, Pact of Negation, Delay, Swan Song etc.

In my personal opinion Omniscience isn't necessary and doesn't help much once you've optimized your deck. As for Leyline of Anticipation I only used it when I could get it out from my opening hand when I still ran it in my deck. It became a liability more often than not, so I removed it.

Jace, the Mind Sculptor will definitely be good in this list.

If you need any other suggestions don't be afraid to ask. Cheers!

If you're going to run both Sensei's Divining Top and Magus of the Future/Future Sight, I suggest running Helm of Awakening as a rock. It helps everyone but enables a combo that'll let you draw your entire deck by activating Top's Draw ability then playing it off the top of your library fo' free.

Hey champ! A couple of notes.

You should definitely find space for Turnabout. Turnabout goes infinite with Sigil Tracer - if you have 3 other wizards and six lands you can continually untap your lands and creatures to create copies of Turnabout. This gives you infinite mana. Add in Azami and you can draw your deck. I describe this in more detail on my own Azami deck page which I'll link at the bottom.

Turnabout also has to be one of the most versitile cards in the game. You can tap out your opponent's creatures so they can't attack, untap your creatures for cards/ as a combat trick, and even better cast it during your opponent's upkeep to tap out their lands for their turn. Seriously it's amazing.

Long-Term Plans is a beauty too. With Azami it often lets you grab your most needed card at instant speed.

High Tide is a great card to draw with a big grip. It's won me a bunch of games. It would give you another way to get Omniscience on the board.

Foil is an exceptional counterspell because you end up with a whole bunch of cards, tossing one island rarely feels like a big deal.

Anyways, here's my build. It's got a fairly detailed description which includes a few different win cons if you're still after them.
