Maybeboard


This deck was built to help the more casual, the non-cEDH decks at the table stabilize before one player runs away with the game. Designed to maintain parity between players, this deck enacts restrictions on the sweaty-tryhard decks that play unfair magic by doing the following:

  • Running 8+ tutors or repeatable ones that remove all variance from their deck. (Zur)
  • Repeatedly playing extremely powerful/expensive cards for free. (Golos/Narset)
  • Mana ramping to ~20 mana before turn ~5 to remove any chance of competition by out-pacing all other players. (Jhoira/literally 90% of the current Simic decks)
  • Utilizing Lands-based strategies that take advantage of the lack of interaction from the gentleperson's rule of no mass land destruction. (Lord Windgrace/Omnath/Simic)
  • Running degenerate graveyard-based strategy for (pseudo-)infinite effects/recursion. (Gitrog/Muldrotha/Tasigur/Meren)

Because 1-for-1 removal is inherently sub-optimal in a multiplayer format, permanent-based 'hate-cards' were chosen to deal with the above, although there is a counterspell package to deal with specific problem pieces that may not fall under one of the categories above.
