Maybeboard

Instant (1)

Sorcery (1)

Creature (1)

Combo deck which aims to control the board with various enchantments, gaining advantages for sacrificing them and closing the game with combos like Cleansing Meditation + Enchanted Evening or Opalescence + Parallax Tide + Parallax Wave . Backup plan is beatdown with Archon of Sun's Grace or Sigil of the Empty Throne . The powerlevel of the deck is around 6 to 7.

As we usually want the game to drag on for us to find the needed combo we play cards to stall the game indirectly

  • Ertai, the Corrupted -> Keep one blue mana open and this guy untapped and your opponents will hesitate to play anything important. Often the threat to counter is more effective than the counter itself. You can also get political with it and make deals to not counter if they don't attack you for example.
  • Standstill -> Also gives our opponents cards but makes opponents hesitate to play anything. On top of that you can sacrifice it with the effect on the stack to let it fizzle because it needs to sacrifice itself for the effect to work
  • Planar Collapse / Phyrexian Scriptures -> Usually the enemies don't want to play creatures into a board wipe...
  • Confounding Conundrum -> Negates sorcery speed ramp and replaces itself for 2 mana. Can eat important enchantment removal vs decks that rely on landfall

We currently don't play too many tutors because even though I like combo decks I don't like to play every game identical

We have a lot of cards to replace themselves or draw additional cards to dig through our library

The main theme of this deck is sacrificing enchantments which either generate value through sacrificing them like Demonic Pact or Hatching Plans or abusing the Stack with cards like Oblivion Ring or Dance of Many .

There are a couple of ways to abuse the stack with certain enchantments.

One of the main problems of the deck is instant interaction, which outside of Ertai, the Corrupted isn't really present. We play a couple of board wipes to not die too early in the game.

As combos are the main win condition in this deck there are a couple available:

Ideally you want to start to combo off with Ertai, the Corrupted untapped to protect the combo from enemy interaction.
