Ghave, Guru of Spores is one of my favorite commanders, even if he has no in his CMC while Blue is my favorite colour in MTG. His flexibility to act as the leader in a battlecruiser, beatdown or token deck while also beeing one of the most versatile combo-enablers makes him a great choice.
I started Ghave as an Abzan-"Goodstuff"-Deck back in the days. Solid synergies around the Commander are still the main focus of this list..... but as ya know it is hard not to combo off with Ghave. He is begging for

Once you are in an infinite Loop, cards like Butcher of Malakir/Dictate of Erebos, Aura Shards, Soul Warden, Skullclamp get your opponents a much more horrible time.
If you get a Loop with Ashnod's Altar and Nim Deathmantle and have access to infinite mana, you could go for an overkill an throw Acidic Slime or any other ETB-creature into the Altar and recure it with the Deathmantle infinite times.
