This is a Hazoret the Fervent centered around impulsive draw and board control. It was designed and showcased for the YouTube Channel CMDR 99.

Before you play this deck there are a few things to keep in mind.
  1. This is a Mono-Red Tempo Control deck
  2. Being without a hand is not the goal
  3. Hazoret's ability (For reference Hazoret the Fervent ) is for utility, not the plan of this deck
Because of this, you want to keep hands that have some acceleration Terrain Generator is one of the best lands in the deck and any hand with it and enough basics is actually a fine hand. If you run out your hand of lands early it just gives you access to Hazoret the Fervent for blocking. Other ramp like Burnished Hart, Druidic Satchel, and Surveyor's Scope will also make for a good hand.

The other type of card that you are looking for is impulsive engines. These being: Dark-Dweller Oracle, Prophetic Flamespeaker, Stromkirk Occultist, Vance's Blasting Cannons  , Outpost Siege, or Experimental Frenzy. These cards will allow you to use resources aggressively hopefully to disrupt opponents early. You can also use Stolen Strategy or Grenzo, Havoc Raiser to impulsive draw off of your opponents.

In the early game, you want to focus on setting up one or more of your impulsive draw engines and ramping out to set up. Then use your control cards to maintain a board state that makes you comfortable and if you have nothing else use the interaction with Library of Leng/ Squee, Goblin Nabob + Hazoret the Fervent to slowly run your opponents down.

If you're worried about not having something good to discard in these situations discarding a creature to use later with Feldon of the Third Path or banking on Conqueror's Galleon   to retrieve another card still valid. Keeping in mind you are playing a control deck you mainly want to be using the resources in your hand during your opponents turns and using your impulsive draw on your turn.

Alright so at this point it's a question of how well you can fend off your opponents. Bigs spells like Commune with Lava and Apex of Power can help you close out the game. While you wait for your opponents start burning out you can protect yourself with Pariah's Shield or Ensnaring Bridge. Both Tilonalli's Summoner and Golden Guardian   can help you overrun an opponent.
So not every player group is the same and sometimes certain things are not okay. We at Commander Ninty Nine are okay with selective Land destruction like Wildfire and From the Ashes. Here are some cards that can replace the more questionable cards on the list. (If there is a card on the list that you would like to know the context for please comment below with #Explain)
  • From the Ashes/ Wildfire This card only destroys non-basic lands and then gives everyone basics for each one. If your play group doesn't allow this try a more tame approach like Zo-Zu the Punisher
  • Wintermoon Mesa is more or less a pet card it can act like a Spell Pierce activate it the phase before your opponent would need the mana created by the targets. If this isn't your style try Memorial to War or similar cards to just get rid of problem lands.
