Avenger en-Dal

Creature — Human Spellshaper

(2)(White), Tap, Discard a card: Remove target attacking creature from the game. Its controller gains life equal to its toughness.

I would suggest an option that includes and , with as a possible third color.

isn't great. Mageta the Lion is a repeatable board wipe, and the other two I would consider are Avenger en-Dal and Devout Witness as targeted removal options.

has a couple of interesting control options. Waterfront Bouncer, Trickster Mage, and maybe Alexi, Zephyr Mage are passable tempo options, Stronghold Biologist and Stronghold Machinist are more color-heavy, and Dreamscape Artist hits color fixing and ramp, unusual for blue.

Spellshapers are generally mana-heavy, but Undertaker gives you a lot of freedom in what you discard, allowing you to switch cards in your hand and graveyard as needed. Notorious Assassin and Greel, Mind Raker are further control options.

offers mostly burn and evasion. Seismic Mage is repeatable land destruction, and Hammer Mage eats artifacts.

is, as always, the best at color fixing, with Greenseeker, Harvest Mage, and Silverglade Pathfinder. Rushwood Herbalist and Dawnstrider protect your creatures, and Jolrael, Empress of Beasts works well with the red options.

If you want a cheap source of bodies, Haakon, Stromgald Scourge can reanimate any knights, including Changelings. If you Final Parting for Haakon into the Yard and Nameless Inversion you can recast Inversion for 1B as many times as you want, potentially killing lots of stuff. If you use Haakon, you should look at ways to discard him incase you draw into him. I have run Avenger en-Dal to decent effect. Bloodsoaked Altar is a sneakily good card if you can stand to discard. Body Snatcher isn't super-cheap, but it's a ton of value and can discard Haakon. Bog Witch can turn any card into a Dark Ritual, which helps since your deck has a lot of Black costs. Devout Witness is handy if you don't want to run Disenchant because you need more creatures. Icatian Crier makes 2 bodies fwiw. Skirk Ridge Exhumer makes nifty bodies. The Restoration of Eiganjo  Flip not only makes bodies and discards, it also can recur something small, it can even ramp you if you recur a land. Undertaker is much cheaper than Tortured Existence, it's not as good but it's still solid. This isn't an exhaustive list, but these are some options if you want to try out Haakon.

If you use Haakon and something like Pawn of Ulamog or Sifter of Skulls, a sac outlet and Universal Automaton to get infinite death triggers. If you use a Knight that costs B to cast, there is Bog Initiate to fix. There are better things you can do than this, but this is pretty budget. If someone tries to exile your combo pieces, you can always sacrifice them to send them to your graveyard instead.

Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire is a pretty reasonable tutor, and if you need to, you can find an effect for someone else to use (hopefully to your benefit, like a board wipe or removal spell). Eye of Vecna is nice cheap card draw. Strands of Night is a cheap repeatable recursion source, something that is worth a look. Casting of Bones is pretty solid draw if you can count on having creatures you want dead, 3 cards is a lot for 3 mana.

Avenger en-Dal and Settle the Wreckage don't 'kill', and only work vs attacknig creatures. Crawlspace can limit how many people can swing as you, and Fatespinner is a good way to make it much more costly to swing.

This reminds me a bit of my Tobias Andrion deck, though this is more into the 'figurehead of the nation's freedom' part of his flavor, mine is more of a guerilla warfare expert feel, lots of ways to punish opponents, and very tedious to actually fight against. He looks weak, but if you've got a Noble Purpose on your side, how can you lose?

Hammer Mage a driver for the street sweeper of artifact cards in play

Fountain Watch just play a Asceticism with this and you just gave your whole board immunity to spells and abilities

Wicked! I've been wanting to do a deck with remedy myself for the longest time! You've nailed all the auto-includes, I think:) so I only have some plausible suggestions: Last Breath, Avenger en-Dal turns every card in your hand into a better condemn, Curse of the Forsaken if you target yourself :p Illumination? Swords to Plowshares although, it'll ruin the budget. Alabaster Potion = white fireball ;) Hope Charm for versatility. Laquatus's Champions hillarious! Misfortune's Gain for more removal? Reward the Faithful is fun. Soldevi Steam Beast for the lulz. Soothing Balm for the hurtz! Tonic Peddler turns every card in hand into a lava spike.

Swords to Plowshares, Wall of Shards, Avenger en-Dal, Luminate Primordial, Last Breath, Armistice, Benevolent Offering, Condemn, Oust are most of the notable "opponent gains life for a profit" cards.

Find ways to spend your life gain! Birthing Pod might be right up your alley.

Bant Charm, cuz. Ditto for Cyclonic Rift, Beast Within, etc.

Temur Sabertooth to bounce your stuff to hand and recast, while protecting ya dudes.

Drogskol Reaver for the dank life-gain synergies.

With all due respect, your responses to my comment don't make full sense to me either. Several of your points are 100% valid (particularly Aegis of the Gods; I forgot that your commander gives YOU hexproof), but you dismiss several suggestions out of hand (imho).

Haazda Shield Mate gives protection from Voltron while also being protected by your commander; Pulsemage Advocate often returns 3 useless things to an opponent in return for a huge creature; Avenger en-Dal may not be as good as StP or PtE, but he's reusable and a huge deterrent; Darien, King of Kjeldor creates an army whenever you're hit (thus warding off attacks, not to mention that he neatly curves after your commander).

And these are all humans, so their effects are hard to remove whenever you have your commander. Of course, they might be better or worse depending on meta - but if you're playing in a competitive meta where they're irrelevant (full of control or combo), then your deck needs serious adjustment to match them.

I playtested it a few times, and never had much board presence until T7-8 (plus little recovery from wraths). Too slow for my local meta, at least, but maybe I just got bad hands. Or maybe I'm playing it wrong: it's not my deck, after all :)

I don't play the Signets for acceleration; I play them for early color-fixing. Without access to green, you have no way to get the lands you need or cast your ramp spells. You also don't have THAT much land-ramp: I count six cards in the deck that are capable of early ramp, and two are relatively conditional. Karametra doesn't seem good on paper, but in a deck with 37 creatures (most of them cheap), she'd easily prove her worth shrug

Still, I'm always happy to see a tribal humans deck. They're a tragically underused crowd.
