Davros, Dalek Creator – “Villainous Choices and Dalek Armies”

Do you like forcing your opponents into impossible decisions? This deck turns every life loss, discard, and card draw into a villainous advantage. Davros, Dalek Creator leads a Grixis control-combo deck that drains life, fuels value engines, and manufactures deadly Dalek armies at your end step. The theme is ruthless: punish, manipulate, and exterminate!

⚙️ Game Plan

This deck’s main strategy is to chip away at opponents’ life totals, triggering Davros’ end step to create 3/3 menace Dalek tokens and villainous choices (either you draw or they discard). Every turn cycle, the goal is to make at least one opponent lose 3 life through combat, pings, or mass discard/draw effects and snowball your board state with artifact tokens and card advantage.

While you pressure the table with incremental damage and discard, you stay protected with pillow-fort enchantments like Propaganda, draw engines like Rhystic Study, and board resets such as Cyclonic Rift or Blasphemous Act.

Win Conditions

  1. Token Overwhelm: Amass an army of 3/3 menace Daleks via Davros triggers, Loyal Subordinate, and Cult of Skaro. With menace and recursion, few can block them effectively.

  2. Attrition Control: Use Pain Magnification, Raiders' Wake, and Liliana's Caress to drain life whenever opponents discard or take noncombat damage.

  3. Value Locks: Combine Notion Thief with Whispering Madness or Wheel of Fortune to refill your hand while emptying theirs.

  4. Combo Finishes: Infinite or near-infinite loops can emerge from the following synergies.

☠️ Key Combos & Synergies

Davros, Dalek Creator + Pain Magnification + Any Repeat Damage Source: Each 3-damage hit forces discards and triggers more villainous choices.

Davros, Dalek Creator + Whispering Madness + Notion Thief: Opponents discard their hands, you draw their cards, and Davros’ end step floods the board.

Tergrid, God of Fright   + Discard/Destruction: Every time an opponent discards or sacrifices, you gain their permanents. Works especially well with Raiders' Wake, Court of Ambition, and Liliana, Waker of the Dead.

Strionic Resonator + Davros Trigger: Copy Davros’ end-step ability to double Daleks and double villainy.

Sword of Feast and Famine + Loyal Subordinate: Constant untaps and life loss keep Davros active each turn.

Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger + Waste Not: Devastates hands while generating mana, zombies, and cards.

Playstyle & Tips

Early Game: Ramp and set up defenses. Play Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, and early card draw.

Mid Game: Start bleeding opponents with discard engines and chip damage to trigger Davros. Protect Davros with Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots.

Late Game: With a full board of Daleks and discard effects, finish opponents through menace combat or oppressive hand denial.

Politics: Offer villainous “choices” that sound less painful than they are. Remember, Davros loves manipulation.

What I’d Like Feedback On

Best artifact recursion options for recurring Daleks or The Soul Stone. Would adding more artifact recursion (e.g., Goblin Welder or Emry, Lurker of the Loch) strengthen the late game or dilute the strategy?

Suggestions for budget upgrades or meta-specific counterspells.

Testing opinions on Descent into Avernus too risky or a perfect fit for constant life loss triggers?

Which additional wheel effects (like Reforge the Soul) would improve synergy without breaking theme?

How could the deck better protect Davros while maintaining pressure on the board?

Flavor

Davros embodies everything Grixis stands for intellect, cruelty, and control. Every end step becomes an episode of Doctor Who gone mad: “You will obey the Daleks, or you will suffer their wrath!”
