E6: Special Snowflake

Commander / EDH GU (Simic) Tokens

Quandrix token shenanigans.

This deck takes a lot of mana, and the 6 cmc commander is a big part of the strategy, so the first few turns need to be spent ramping as hard as possible. This deck doesn't really get rolling until you get out 6-8 lands.

Once this deck does start working, it can do some silly things. Cards like Avenger of Zendikar, Hornet Queen, and Master of Waves are bangers with Esix since their tokens can be made into copies of themselves. Other creatures with ETB triggers or relevant triggered abilities are great to make multiple copies of. For example, say you have Esix and an Archmage Emeritus on the board, cast Fungal Sprouting, draw a card from the Archmage, create four token copies of the Archmage Emeritus, and then cast something like Pongify and get 5 draw triggers. That's just a taste of what can happen with Esix.

Don't forget that Esix lets you choose opponents' creatures to target as well. I once cast Second Harvest and made 14 copies of an opponent's Squirrel Sovereign.

This deck gets crazier the longer the game goes, but finishers include Altar of Dementia (which can go infinite with token copies of Specimen Collector), infinite turns with token copies of Timestream Navigator, or overrunning combat with multiple token copies of Abominable Treefolk.
