Last of the list has been ordered save 1 card.

Zeddicuus, 3 months ago

Got the last 5 cards in transit to fill this list out. Minus the Auton Soldier, he was pricier than I anticipated. Will try to get him later on. Will be examining what has been spoiled of Final Fantasy and Tarkir. See if there's any useful canidates to put into this deck that would need to be ordered. I live in canada and buying packs is getting ridiculously expensive. Singles seem to be the way to go, though I am reluctant to stop purchasing packs entirely as the store that gets them here makes very little profit on them to keep them going. But yeah, once those 5 arrive the deck is functionally complete until something shiny and new comes out that works.! I will continue to post updates on gameplay and perceived changes that may need to be done. This one has become a pet project like my Giada commander deck.

Mainboard Updates v.2

Andramalech, 3 months ago

I've reconstructed my list to be as competitively constructed as possible, in my opinion. The goal here is to provide a really strong basis for when the full set for Tarkir: Dragonstorm gets released later this year (April, 2025).

I'm really looking forward to the new set, and have preemptively included both Sarkhan, Dragon Ascendant and Mox Jasper.

Personally, Sarkhan did not need to go that hard. It's shaping up to be a super great ramp-into-dragon set, let alone what that would mean for a deck like The Ur-Dragon. It's going to be a great release for sure, but I realize personally that Sarkhan is unlikely to be held accountable for his previous genocidal and boot-licking behavior towards Dragons, which irreparably damaged the occupants of Tarkir. It'll be something to see for sure, even after the updates from the Planeswalker's Guide.

Once again, I'm excited to see us all converse on how best to pilot/create this deck!

Aetherdrift Update

-1 Tidehollow Sculler, +1 Zahur, Glory's Past - A free (if limited) Sac outlet is something the deck could use, given the amount of graveyard recursion it has between Sun Titan and the like.

Finishing my first draft!

purelycryptic, 3 months ago

Officially finishing my first draft of this deck! Replacing the original Zacama, the Primal Calamity I had with the CMM:691 foiled version, and adding the biggest adjustments I could find per play testing with the side cards I have being having no fucking had halfway through the game. The cards I originally had that are being removed are Needletooth Pack (FDN), Raging Regisaur (RIX), Cavern Stomper (LCI), Soaring Sandwing (LCI), Belligerent Yearling (LCI:320), and Panicked Altisaur (LCI). These cards have been replaced with Elemental Bond (C19), Everything Comes to Dust (WHO), Garruk's Uprising (M21), The Skullspore Nexus (LCI:340), True Conviction (SCD), Verdant Sun's Avatar (XLN) foiled version, and Rishkar's Expertise (NCC). Excited to finally try to actually play with my first successfully completed prototype deck! :))

Took out some cards that were under-performing after 100+ games of playing. Took out the rest of the creature tutors (worldly, tooth and nail). Added some interaction including mass artifact removal, ghost vacuum and another instant or two. Added stronger creatures like the rest of the Ulamogs, Wandering Archaeic, etc. Roxxane is very fun very strong, I'd put this decklist closer to a 9/10. Lots and lots of replayability, and has even held it's own pretty consistently in cedh pods at my LGS / magiccon. Gruul FTW

Lower CMCs

IQuarent, 3 months ago

IN: Curious Obsession, Back in Town

OUT: Agent of Treachery, Keeper of Keys

This is an aggro deck. Im going to cut some of the high cmc rogues to see I miss them. Man, with all the discard in here, cheating one of those into play seems SWEET but it's just never happened so far. Sad.

Adjustment

IQuarent, 3 months ago

IN: Banner of Kinship, Silver Shroud Costume, Lorien Revealed

OUT: Sheoldred  Flip, Pact of the Serpent, Island

Sheoldred was either never cast or died before it could do anything. It is good? Extremely, but it's slow. Not only that, this card is more of a back up plan and not really our main plan. Banner of Kinship is more what we're actually trying to do.

I traded recently for Silver Shroud Costume. Im wanted to try it and this deck seems like the most natural fit.

Lorien Revealed is basically a MDFC. There's no reason not to include it.

Rule of Law Pivot - 1.05

Faaln, 3 months ago

First major update, it's quite fast but I want to try out focusing on rule of law type effects plus her inherent 2-for-1 aura tutoring/attaching to break parity. A few other pieces to slow others down a bit that don't have any effect on this deck too.

ADDING

+Angel's Grace Honestly thought this was already in the deck as I had fully intended to put it in but evidently I forgot: correcting that mistake.

+Doorkeeper Thrull This deck doesn't care about creature or artifact etbs, so it's one-sided.

+Hushbringer As above, one-sided.

+Grafdigger's Cage Can at least force graveyard shenanigans decks to look for artifact removal first.

+Skrelv, Defector Mite The final (for now) Mom, home at last.

+Shardmage's Rescue Great protection at flash speed.

+Sheltered by Ghosts Removal plus protection.

+Springleaf Drum With the added creatures this becomes a viable rock.

+Swift Reconfiguration Cheap, flash pseudo-removal that triggers Light-Paws

+Stony Silence Can prevent ridiculous artifact stuff

+Twinblade Blessing The newer flash replacement for Battle Mastery.

Law Effects: Everything below is being added for the same thing, to reduce the number of spells casts per turn to one per player. Between Light-Paws turning any aura into a second aura and plenty of auras with flash to take up our own allotted 'one spell' on other people's turns; breaking parity is very trivial.

+Archon of Emeria

+Deafening Silence

+Eidolon of Rhetoric

+Phyrexian Censor

+Rule of Law

REMOVING

-Angelic Destiny

-Battle Mastery

-Brilliant Restoration

-Cartouche of Solidarity

-Cho-Manno's Blessing

-Conviction

-Flickerform

-Gift of Granite

-Military Discipline

-Open the Armory

-Reprobation

-Search for Glory

-Sentinel's Eyes

-Sentinel's Mark

-Triclopean Sight

-Unquestioned Authority

Mainboard Updates v.1

Andramalech, 3 months ago

Thanks for checking in! This is the first major update for my list so I'll do my best to draw attention to the major, fundamental shifts in the list so far. Detailed below are the cards that seemed significant enough to mention, as the direction I'm taking now has a much different type of playstyle behind it.

There's a handful of other updates I was going to detail, but the above seem to capture the directional shift I'm aiming for. I also need to include a lot more instants and things that can provide me a 'one-of-any-color' kind of effect- so I'll be exploring that a little later on. Cheers to any suggestions and recommendations!
