It may not be perfect, but it has come a long way since the first build. I certainly don't think this is finished so any suggestions you would feel are helpful would be gratefully received.

Any yes I know that cards such as Sylvan Library, Tarmogoyf, Dark Confidant and Bitterblossom would be good fits, I just don't own them. And at their current price I'm not sure I ever will!!

8 person single elimination.

Round 1 - Kemba, Kha Regent (2-0)

Was fearing an early exit with this match-up in the first round. Thankfully in game one I hit an early Hymn to Tourach and had Anafenza, the Foremost out on turn 3. Managing to Abrupt Decay Kemba before Lightning Greaves was attached also helped a lot and I was able to comfortably win the game.

Game 2 went on for a little longer, but a team of Mikaeus, the Lunarch, Experiment One, Anafenza, the Foremost and Hardened Scales proved too much for the smaller tokens of my opponent. First time using this form of the deck in a competitive setting and thankfully it didn't disappoint.

Round 2 - Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest (2-0)

Game 1 proved to be a marathon game in which Anafenza, the Foremost repeatedly got removed with burn spells. Other creatures saw a similar fate and at one stage I was down at 2 life. Courser of Kruphix and Vampire Nighthawk were the two cards that turned the tide, aided by Lingering Souls (blockers really helped), Path to Exile (to get rid of Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest) and Swords to Plowshares (to get rid of a Foundry Street Denizen). I was soon out of danger and Primordial Hydra soon arrived to return the damage.

Game 2 was a much simpler affair as my opponent failed to find blue mana for the whole game and so I quickly built up a sizeable force. I failed to keep Anafenza on the battlefield again, but there were enough other options to keep the win safe.

Round 3 - Bye (2-0) Owing to a drawn game in an earlier round (and us failing to know how to properly deal with it) I ended up with a bye to the final game. Unfortunately time got away from us and there was no final game. This issue has now been rectified and so shouldn't happen again.

Overall - 1st place (3-0-0)

Thanks to a better win percentage I was awarded top spot, but it was a very unsatisfying win having not actually played a final game. That aside, the deck performed reasonably well even if it seemed a touch fragile when Anafenza, the Foremost was kept under wraps. I think I'll try this deck again in the next Tiny Leaders week and see how it fares against some other decks.
