The deck's theme:

• The deck:

This deck is a -1/-1 counters matter deck, with an infect/wither subtheme and a lot of token generation. The deck has several ways of winning, by either poisoning with infect creatures, trampling our way with a gigantic army of tokens, or draining opponents to death with infinite death triggers, involving Blowfly Infestation and our commander.

• Why is Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons the commander?

She offers a cheap and effective way of having a powerful payoff to the negative counters, being that she can make snakes. Additionaly, they have deathtouch, so it makes our blocks incredibly favorable.

• The deck's weaknesses:

Our commander is very important as the primary payoff. We do have some additional support with cards such as Flourishing Defenses in case she gets too expensive to be casted, but having her on the battlefield is still important for us. Boardwipes do set us back a lot, however our aristocrats subtheme makes it painful to boardwipe. We also have to be extremely careful with cards like Soul Snuffers as we might kill our own commander by accident.

• The deck's strenghts:

We are very proefficient at killing large groups of small tokens. Commanders like Krenko, Mob Boss will have a lot of problems dealing with our deck. We also excel at getting rid of indestructible creatures thanks to the aforementioned negative counters theme. That's why we also have a Revel in Riches "kit": the sheer amount of creatures dying will most likely help on our way to victory.
