Deck philosophy

Heavily influenced by MTGmuddstah's Krenko deck this one is my approach to it. This is an aggro deck. Do not try to hide it. Usually you are well advised to utilize your creatures for early, merciless attacks. Goblins are meant to be rude and undiplomatical. With this fast-paced aggro deck you will most probably be seen as a threat early on - so only hold back from attacking when you can utilize this to your advantage by making a deal that will buy you enough time to set up a game-winning combo. This deck's main drawback is its vulnerability to boardwipes and continuous hate towards your Krenko with target removal. Most key cards have similar replacement cards in the deck, so don't be too desperate when you lose one of them. Especially when you manage to pull off several activations of Krenko per turn you are able to regain board presence at incredible speed. Should you fail to gain board presence, Insurrection is an emergency tool to swing games that already look lost.

Main combos:

  • Krenko + several untap effects give you more than one activation of Krenko per turn

  • Krenko + Thornbite Staff + Sac Outlet, Skull Clamp or Goblin Sharpshooter sniping one of your own 1/1s gives infinite ETBs for Impact Tremors or Purphoros or (if you have a critical mass of goblins) infinite creatures. If you have a haste enabler or Goblin Bombardment on the field you can win.

  • similarly you can untap Krenko infinite times with Umbral Mantle if you sacrifice gobline with an altar or Skirk Prospector if you have a critical mass of goblins

  • Goblin Matron will find Goblin Recruiter to let you tutor for goblins. Arrange them on top of your deck as you need. Conspicuous Snoop will let you play them from the top of your library. Skirk Prospector will grant you mana to cast them by sacrificing some of your 1/1s you create with Krenko.

  • Shared Animosity or Ogre Battledriver will pump your goblins significantly enough to pose a threat to your enemies life total.

  • Goblin King and Blood Moon will make your goblins unblockable for any opponent who controls nonbasic lands.

I drew an Expedition Cavern of Souls, hence I had a spare one to put into this tribal deck. Still considering a rework of this deck but will probably wait until the release of Commander Legends.
