Basically, the goal is to get a bunch of creatures into the graveyard, so Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord can lead the kill. Utility creatures to get more mana (Dawntreader Elk, Burnished Hart) or remove artifact/enchantments (Sylvok Replica, Root Greevil) or creatures (Banewhip Punisher, Plaguecrafter) add to the graveyard count, also allowing Necrotic Ooze to act as a double. Sudden Reclamation or Eternal Witness-type effects can recur effects you need more of, and Disciple of Bolas Momentous Fall draw you a ton of cards while gaining you massive chunks of life to survive. Witchbane Orb and Orbs of Warding are attempts to protect you from being target with mass graveyard removal, plus any additional target player effects that could ruin your day. The big creatures in question are any of the star/star status creatures, plus Golgari Raiders, Undergrowth Scavenger, Rhizome Lurcher, and Nighthowler; Bonehoard acts as either an honorary creature due to Living Weapon or a buff to another creature. Hopefully, the deck can win out of seemingly nowhere once it has its graveyard filled, from Jarad's activated ability to Lotleth Giant's non-combat kills, or Vigorspore Wurm/Moodmark Painter's buff on an evasive creature. Or untapping with Mortal Combat. Whatever works.
