Revenant

Creature — Spirit

Flying

Revenant's power and toughness are each equal to the number of creature cards in your graveyard.

I've always considered Read the Bones to be better than sign in blood since it gives you the scry. It'll help to even out the mana curve a bit more, too.

For removal, I'd suggest Murderous Cut. It can hit anything, and the delve will help you cut noncreature spells out of your deck, allowing you to power both Grave Strength and Liliana's Indignation while cutting out Read the Bones, since you don't want to shoot yourself to much.

If you want more creature based card draw, Phyrexian Gargantua and Phyrexian Rager have the same effect as Dusk Legion Zealot.

Phyrexian Delver would be a good addition. In case you milled a creature you want, you can get it back. It does shoot you though, so I'd run no more than two in the deck.

Most importantly though, you'll want Nighthowler. It's a cheaper Revenant that also sees your opponent's graveyard. The only downside is the fact it doesn't fly. If that becomes an issue, you can bestow the Nighthowler onto the Revenant.

This seems like an incredibly fun deck idea, and I hope this helps!

i'm trying to make a mostly creature mill deck with 4 Liliana's Indignation with Elixir of Immortality and/or a few Cranial Archive to do it all over again. so far other than those i have Grave Strength to use on a couple Revenant some Dusk Legion Zealot for creature based draw, and a few Sign in Blood

looking for some additions, this is hopefully gonna be a fun deck i plan for a few kill spells, but i wanna keep it mono black, and not terribly expensive if possible.

Took out 4 Diregraf Ghoul and added 4 Blood Pet. The pet offers more synergy and complex decision making possibilities with Revenant, and introduces black's sac-for-mana subtheme.

Tidal Force Too expensive id rather the Intruder Alarm -like affects; cheaper/more creatures untapped = more useful

Wall of Frost dont find myself blocking a lot and if i do i just use a clone or Revenant -like effect

Oblivion Sower Not great land ramp for what it is and in a 100 card singleton format searching for a usually 35/100 chance that goes down for each land they have in play this seems kinda bad besides its big booty

Silumgar, the Drifting Death might be good for clearing weenies other than that same as o-sower kinda beefy booty but not a lot else helpful

Arcane Laboratory I don't like stax in non stax decks that nets me advantage only in the form of slowing tf out of my opponents think more Rhystic Study than your suggested "Winter Orb" The other suggestions seem solid ill add them to the maybeboard the only reason I am currently lacking Thran Dynamo & Gilded Lotus is due to the ridiculously broken "my wallet is not bottomless" conundrum. i have like 4 other decks with them in atm and it gets kinda pricy the more of them you need :( (curse you staples that wizards retardedly doesn't reprint!)

How about Grave Strength?

Revenant could be something to consider as well

Sultai Ascendancy is awesome!

For milling (maybe as a replacement): Gather the Pack

I'd advice to run some form of removal. Murderous Cut would be perfect; you're probably going to mill a ton of lands as well, which you don't really care about, so you can delve them.

Maybe run some sort of grave return (cards like Macabre Waltz and Dutiful Return, maybe even Possessed Skaab or Greenwarden of Murasa).

Sideboarding countermagic is also advised. I'd recommend sideboarding 4x Negate or Rakshasa's Disdain, to prevent you dying to something like Tormod's Crypt, or worse, Hedonist's Trove.

I think tasigur would be Good, at least better than Shambling Attendants. also think you should drop Sultai Soothsayer. Maybe add Rakshasa Deathdealer.I would also say drop Revenant. Maybe play Dragonlord Silumgar in its place. Try Painful Truths over Artificer's Epiphany. Also play Sidisi, Brood Tyrant over Necropolis Fiend or Rakshasa Vizier and maybe play Sagu Mauler as well. Maybe play Clash of Wills or Calculated Dismissal to use your grave yard. Play at least 24 lands. Maybe even 25 for your deck, take those out of your sorceries. And the one Sultai Ascendancy for a land. And play a few Gather the Pack with your Taigam's Scheming. Also, Soulflayer is good in very few decks, mainly just chromanticore. Hmmm, maybe Hooting Mandrills or Woodland Wanderer. These are all just ideas to improve the deck. I Would strongly suggest adding more lands, up to 25 but closer to 24.
