Gorm and Virtus - Half Way There

Commander / EDH* BG (Golgari) Multiplayer

Brocacola

The goal of the deck to get in with Virtus the Veiled and other creatures with similar effects to take large chunks out of your opponents' life totals. Gorm and friends help clear a path for these creatures to get in for as much damage as possible.

Virtus effects:

Virtus the Veiled - Easily accessable out of the command zone. He can't go toe to toe with other creatures, so having him get in for the effect will take a bit of planning.

Quietus Spike - Turns any creature into Virtus. For laughs you can equip this to Virtus himself to get double the effect.

Scytheclaw - For a bit more mana you get the Virtus effect, without the deathtouch, on a germ token.

Torgaar, Famine Incarnate - While not exactly the same effect, Torgaar can still bring the pain without moving to combat. Coming 7/6 body is relevant so you can either have it get in for damage or put a lure effect on it for others to get through. Alternatively, you can bring your own life total back up to 20 if need be.

Raving Dead - Tougher but unpredictable, you'll need to manuever your creatures to follow this zombie to make sure it gets through.

Ebonblade Reaper - The plan is to morph on an unsuspecting opponent. However you'll probably only be attacking once due to the major drawback.

Dire Fleet Ravager - Hits all players and only hits for a third instead of half of the life total. Being a 4/4 Menace Deathtouch allows him to hold equipment well.

Phage the Untouchable - Okay, so Phage isn't a Virtus effect. She's better. With all of the ways to give your creatures unblockable, while also being great against opposing creatures, this is a deck where Phage can truly shine. Just watch out for Living Death if she's in the graveyard.

Gorm effects:

Gorm the Great - Forcing your opponent to block with two creatures will sometimes help Virtus get through for the effect. Vigilance is great on the 2/7 body to protect you from the crackback.

Destined // Lead - Lead does the normal Lure effect, but Destined pushes it over the top by saving your creature from a boardwipe or an unfavored block.

Revenge of the Hunted - Supercharges a creature with the lure effect. Targeting one of your deathtouch creatures can make this a one sided boardwipe for the unlucky opponent.

Tempting Licid - Tricky to play, but once you understand that you can dodge removal and turn off the aura before damage to save the spell you'll be glad everytime you draw this card.

Nemesis Mask - I believe this is better than Lure since it'll stick around if the equipped creature dies.

Noble Quarry - Also better than Lure in my opinion, especially if you use the Bestow ability first.

Other Win Conditions:

Wound Reflection + Archfiend of Despair - Having either one of these out when a Virtus effect kicks in will take their life total down to 0.

Deadly Tempest - Playing this late game can absolutely destroy your opponents if you've gotten a few Virtus effects in.

The Rest:

The rest of the deck includes some double strike enablers like Fireshrieker, cards to make creatures unblockable in Whispersilk Cloak, your usual card draw and ramp spells with unusual inclusions like Infiltration Lens, creature protection and recursion including Glissa, the Traitor to get all of those much needed artifacts back.

Thanks for reading! The deck isn't meant to be super competitive, but I'm open to all suggestions.
