Hello guys,

Zegana has been my main commander deck for almost three years now. It started as a budget deck, built almost entirely from cards i won on drafts. But the more i played her, the more i started to love her. Pressure, enough mana to do anything, infinite card draw and combos with a slight taste of control of the game. It's not too hard to get ahead of your oponents, even if they run enough removal to slow you down.

I can't really explain perfectly the strategy and gameplay, becouse it almost every time depends on oponnent's strategy and gameplay, but I'll try to do it in the most easy way. Strategy of this deck is kinda straight forward. Throw some ramp from the beginning, (I'm using mostly elf ramp, since i can turn these little fellas into bloodsucking beasts with Biomass Mutation , which is not really hard to tutor or draw) then cast a chubby friend. If he cannot win the game on its own (like Lorthos, the Tidemaker with his land/creature lock can), cast your commander next turn (or the same turn Great Whale ) to get even more ahead. Note, that I've been playing this deck mostly in Multiplayer, not 1v1.

There are some important, sometimes gamebreaking combos:

• Kederekt Leviathan + Stunt Double (essentialy + Artisan of Kozilek )
• Deadeye Navigator + Great Whale (infinite mana+ for example Biomass Mutation )
• Deadeye Navigator + Prime Speaker Zegana (potentially endless draw)
• Cyclonic Rift + Shaman of Forgotten Ways (sometimes difficult to pull off, becouse of its mana hunger)
• Doubling Season + Jace, Architect of Thought (Doubling season is pretty good in this deck on its own, since commander is coming to play with counters, but pulling Jace's ultimate abillity the turn he came to play is just disgusting)

I also included some control cards like counterspells or steal effects, such as, in multiplayer, deadly Expropriate . I know the land pool is poor, but i hate lands that come into play tapped, becouse they can simply cost you the entire turn and fetch lands and Alpha double lands are still too expensive for me. :)
