Hi,

This is my current version of a partner commander deck with Lutri, Pauper Otter as a companion. I'm trying to optimize this deck as much as possible without breaking the bank (and also for my playgroup not to frown when I play proxies of vintage cards).

I've identified two primary ways of dodging Lutri's companion restriction, which I categorized as follows:

• cards that don't have a colored expansion symbol: everything pre Exodus (1998); misprints with wrong the wrong symbol; promos s. a. San Diego Comic-Con 2014 planeswalkers or DreamHack's metal Ral, Moonsoon Mage; cards with an expansion symbol whose rarity is hard to distinguish (MKC).
• cards that don't have an expansion symbol: core and reprint sets until fifth edition (1997); vertical extended art promos (Treasure Mage), textless cards; Secret Lair printings; Poster style cards (e.g., LotR); Playtest cards; physically removing/altering expansion symbols (cheating); miscuts (factory errors)

Now I need your help. Can you can think of any other ways of "breaking" (circumventing) Lutri's restriction and thereby, expanding the card pool I can choose from?

Parts of the Maybeboard include Playtest + Un-set cards. If possible, I like to keep this deck black/white-bordered.

Strategy & Stuff:

• T3: Play Candlekeep Sage
• T4: Play Faceless One -> draw
• T5+: Flicker'n'Bounce the shit out of Faceless one, draw and try new double flicker combinations. (Ghostly Flicker/Displace)
• remember: you draw whenever you commander ETBs OR LTB. Flickering will result in 2 draws!

Comments & Combos:

• Ghostly Flicker + Faceless One + Candlekeep Sage + Mystic Sanctuary = drawing the instant/sorcery placed on top of your library.
• Ghostly Flicker + The Shattered States Era   = stealing your opponents' creatures permanently.
• Retraction Helix + Blisterspit Gremlin/Thermo-Alchemist + non-creature/instant/sorcery = Bouncing many non-land permanents.
• Magmakin Artillerist + Ophidian Eye/Tandem Lookout + more than 7 cards in hand at EOT = ping your opponents to death, given that you have enough cards in your library.
• Devious Cover-Up to shuffle non-instant & non-sorceries back into the library.
• Step Through tutors for Scholar of Combustion/Revolutionist.
• Gustha's Scepter tucks away cards before Lutri's ETB resolves.
• The Shattered States Era   + Safe Haven or Endless Sands = exiling opponent's creature indefinitely.
